I rely heavily on reviews when choosing places to go or services to use. And because I rely so heavily on reviews, I believe it's only right to provide my feedback for others to rely on. As a child my parents never had a carpet cleaning service come to the house to clean their carpets. But once I had kids, I couldn't imagine how they went so many years without a professional cleaning. I didn't know who to use, and my neighbor (about 4 houses down) had Impact Carpet Cleaning at her house the other day. I went up to the truck and Jerry, the owner, gave me his business card. I was lucky enough to get an appointment within a week, as he had a cancellation and promised me a call if that happened. He gave me a 2 hour arrival window, and he texted me 30 minutes before he arrived. The process was seamless. He cleaned my living room, dining room. office and training room. The carpets were consumed with chocolate icing, spilled iced tea and gatorade, pizza sauce, and unfortunately, pet urine. My kids are a disaster, but you would never know it now! My carpets are like new! It's really unbelievable, the before and after. I should have taken pictures, but I never thought the result would be so dramatic. All stains came out. All of them! And he has his own product to treat pet odor. The smell is gone. And it never came back. He gave me a price over the phone, and that is the price he charged me when he was finished. You just never know what you're in for in these types of situations. They give you one price, then when they get to your house, the price doubles. Not these guys. True to their word. The machine was in his truck and he only had to run hoses into my house. I could tell that he took a lot of pride in his work. He took the time to show me his machine and how the cleaning process worked with a truck mount system. I've seen what those portable machines can do - my sister used a company with a portable. You just can't compare the two. The power of his truck mount machine was like nothing I've ever seen. He told me he also cleans mattresses and upholstery. That will be next on my list when I call them. If you rely on reviews like I do, listen to me. This is the company to use. You won't find better. It's rare that you find a genuine company that just wants to do good work and provide the best experience for their customers. Spring cleaning time is near. Get your carpets and furniture cleaned by Impact. You'll be glad you did!

We have owned our house for over 20 years. The best and most valuable improvement to our house was getting Artistic Woodfloors to sand and re-polish our floor for us. Many professionals/contractors recommended that we replace the wooden floor that was installed in 1950. Dave and his knowledgeable staff exceeded our expectation. Our old wood floor is now a magnificent new wood floor. Our friends cannot believe it is the same wood floor. If you need an excellent wood floor contractor allow Artistic Woodfloor to work their magic on your floor and expeditiously transform it for you. Louis Darley PA 19111 10/10/2014
We were so worried about the stains on our carpet that it won't come out and that we'll be wasting the cleaning money, but Jay assured us that he has the experience to care take of it, make us worry-free, and what he has to offere is the REAL DEAL. He was so right -- he knows what he was talking about. We became worry-free during the cleaning process, even before he was done with our carpet because he is very professional in what he does. He took time with it and it showed that he cares about the carpet. He's such a gentleman -- polite, friendly, and very respectful. After he was done I asked him for extra business cards so that I can recommend him to friends, families, anyone I come across. Needless to say that I would definitely recommend you to call him right now. If you're still not convince log on to his website and read his mission statement -- I can definitely say that his work upholds to it. We were thankful to have the opportunity to witness to his work and proud to be a witness to his work.
I remember when I first used Kings, Brian came out after my regular guy didn't show. I figured it was time to try a new company, so I called King's Clean Master. It sounded catchy, you know the royal treatment and all. I have a restuarant and a couple of apartments. In the past 25 years, they only missed one appointment because of a bad transmission and even then gave me a discount for missing the appointment. Every other time someone moves from an apartment, I ScotchGuard. Brian told me it tends to wear out after a year to eighteen months, so I listened. That has saved me replacing my carpets and after 10years, he installed new rugs. Kings is prompt, courtesy and even educated me on carpet decisions, that help me not them. They are reasonable priced and I've always been impressed with their equipment. The machine gets grease and spills out from the restuarant everytime and it stays in the truck. Great work for great prices. Thanks King's. Hussan
IN 1995, I purchased 2 remnants that were a stainmaster deepest pile EVER imaginable. Gorgeous! You walk on clouds of softness. The best carpet ever! I had a family member who needed a temporary room. My extra bedroom didnt have a bed yet, but he slept soo comfortable on my rug w/pillows, comforter and my plush rug for weeks. I still have those rugs in a different home, all these years later. The price and quality was soo reasonable, that my mom feel in LOVE with my pillowy emerald rugs, & she bought her carpet from this store. In 1998, they did her whole home installation. They were soo nice, that they took some leftover carpet, and made her an entrance rug for free! They took it back to the shop, and sewed the edges, and she picked it up! I LOVED the price, service, quality, expertise, and professionalism back then, that I'll be returning this month for carpeting for my stairs and hallway. See you guys soon. I know I'll get the best deal!
I never had my carpets cleaned. Ever. Then I had my grandchildren over while my daughter went on vacation and all 3 kids got sick at the same time! Like nothing I ever experienced in my life! I have a big house. There was vomit everywhere! I called Impact because I saw the reviews on Yelp. OMG, thank God! And everything came out! No stains, no smell! When I called, Jerry said not to treat it with anything because he had a product that works. Don't touch it. I can't believe it all came out! It was a nightmare! And while he was here I was talking about how this all started in the middle of the night with the youngest, so he asked if I needed the mattresses cleaned. Mattresses! I didn't even think of that! And they were dry by bedtime. My house is like new. Can't say enough about this company! What a Godsend! Read less
My fiancé and I moved into her grandfathers house after he had passed, the carpet looked like the original carpet. We were getting ready to have a Birthday party, and I remember thinking how emmbarresed I would be for house full of people to see how old and worn out the carpets were. I had Kings come over to clean the carpet the week before the party, I was very skeptical, thinking to myself, "there's no way this carpet could be restored." But to my surprise they turned out looking brand new. Kings moved things that I didn't feel like moving, including a very heavy sewing machine table. They even gave me some tips about my heating ducts, as they were just as dirty as the carpet. Great service at an affordable price!! Best rug suckers in town!!!
These guys are great. They got us out of a saga. We hired someone else to redo our wood floor (sand and stain). He told us the job would take only a few days and the floor would look like new afterward. Unfortunately, that was not the case. After a week the floor looked terrible. So we contacted Tran's Hardwood floor. The minute Mr. Tran saw the floor, he told us our guy did not know what he was doing. He said he could fix it. Tran and his team took only two days to get our floor back as new. They were on time and kept a clean working environment. Now our floor is even, smooth with a great finish. My wife is very please with the work. I would recommend him to anyone and know he will do a wonderful job.
@Delores R. did you bother to tell anyone before slamming a company of FALSELY WITHOLDING MONEY FROM YOU that a refund check was issed to you on 7/22/15 ck # 1677 to be exact which you cashed on 7/29/15. Did you also bother to tell how your husband was the one who threatened the owner on the day your carpet was supposed to be installed? That is the reason WE ISSUED YOU A REFUND...WE cancelled the transaction not you. My question is so what company refused to give you your money? Our invoice was dated 7/17/15 and refunded 7/22/15, so clearly you must be mistaken or wrote this review hastily? Just food for thought!
Kings Clean Masters is the best carpet cleaning service I've ever used. They differentiate themselves from other services by honestly caring about their customers. They called ahead of time to confirm their appointment and gave me detailed instructions on how to prepare my home for cleaning. They arrived promptly when scheduled and were courteous, professional and friendly. A few days afterwards they called me to inquire if I was satisfied with their service. I was..100?%. I now recommend Kings Clean Masters to all of my relatives and friends and everyone who used them as well were also very satisfied!
Mistakes happen, and when it comes to owning a carpet or rug, mistakes usually mean stains. The plush softness of carpet and rugs comes with a price: the time and care required to clean them. Cleaning your carpet or rugs can require some extra work and special techniques that differ from typical hardwood or tile floors. In some cases, you may even need to hire a professional to get the best results.
For minor stains or routine cleaning, it's possible to effectively treat a carpet or rug yourself. If a thorough vacuuming doesn't get rid of dirt in certain areas, here's how to tackle them on your own.
A number of liquids can stain carpet or rug materials, including wine, coffee, nail polish, or blood, to name a few. Depending on what caused the stain, the carpet or rug's material, and how long it's been there, you may need to use different techniques or cleaning supplies to get rid of it. In general, though, keep the following ground rules in mind for stain removal:
- Apply a cleaning solvent directly on the stain, if needed, and allow it to soak in for a few seconds.
- Use a damp cloth to blot the spot. Don't scrub or apply too much pressure, as this might only further embed the stain into the carpet or rug.
- Rinse the cloth and continue blotting until the stain is removed.
Take these steps to remove a stain as soon as possible to prevent drying.
Some stains may come out with little more than water or a mild soap. More serious stains may require a solvent to make removal easier. The best solvent to use depends on what caused the stain.
-Water-soluble stains: These include berries, cola, food dye, jelly, mud, washable ink, or wet paint. Mix a solution of 1/4-teaspoon nonbleach detergent (or white vinegar) with 32 ounces of water.
-Dark water-soluble stains: Chocolate, coffee, mustard, tea, wine, and bodily fluids often stain much more readily than other water-soluble materials and need a different solvent. Use 1 tablespoon of ammonia mixed in 1 cup of water first. If this doesn't work, try combining one part chlorine bleach with five parts water. These solvents may remove color from certain fabrics like wool, so check with the manufacturer for the best cleaning method.
-Oils and waxes: This would include glue, gum, nail polish, and cigarette residue. The best way to clean each of these varies - some may need to be simply scraped off or, if possible, frozen to make it brittle and then chipped away. Most glue can be dissolved and removed using a solvent like rubbing alcohol. Nail polish may also be dissolved using rubbing alcohol or with nail polish remover containing acetone.
Why You Should Hire a Carpet Cleaner Service
Unfortunately, some stains may prove difficult to remove using household products. In any case, vacuuming and spot cleaning may not be enough to get your carpet or rug looking like new again. That's why many homeowners opt to hire a professional carpet cleaning service on a regular basis, around once every 12 to 18 months.
When it comes to heavy-duty carpet cleaning, you have many options to pick from. The two most common methods for cleaning carpets are steam cleaning and dry cleaning.
Steam Cleaning Carpets
Steam cleaning is a common method for professional carpet cleaning, but the name is somewhat misleading. Steam-cleaning services use machines that utilize hot (but not boiling) water in combination with a vacuum. The water is heated inside the machine and sometimes mixed with detergent before being sprayed directly onto the carpet. At the same time, a vacuum sucks up the water almost immediately after hitting the fabric. The hot water extracts far more dirt and stains than would be possible by hand.
Cleaning machines using hot water extraction can be purchased or rented for home use, but they aren't always as powerful as what professional cleaning services use. Improperly drying the carpet may also cause bacteria or mold growth. Professional cleaners also employ a number of other methods to pre-treat the carpet and ensure adequate drying. For these reasons, professional carpet cleaning may be preferable to do-it-yourself methods.
Carpets or rugs can also be thoroughly cleaned using a dry-cleaning method. As the name suggests, there is much less water involved in dry cleaning, which means the carpet can be ready to use in less time. Using powerful solvents to break down dirt and stains, dry cleaning puts less physical stress on the carpet, and thus might be better in the long run. However, dry cleaning is usually more expensive than hot-water cleaning services. In addition, the chemicals used to dry clean carpets might irritate pets, people with sensitive skin, or anyone sensitive to strong odors.
What to Ask a Professional Service
Before choosing a professional carpet cleaning service, make sure you will be getting what you paid for by asking the right questions and doing your homework.
Decide Which Method to Use
Again, there are pros and cons involved in using a hot-water-based cleaning service or dry cleaning. Take into consideration not only cost, but how long the process will take from start to finish, including drying time. Also take note of the material your carpet is made from, and consult the manufacturer if possible to learn about the best ways to clean it. If you or your family is sensitive to any chemicals, be sure to keep this in mind and ask about what chemicals are used.
Research Online or in Person
You can find reviews of most professional carpet-cleaning services online, as well as information about a company's specific process, the chemicals used, and cost. It's also wise to ask friends and family members about services they've used in the past to get a recommendation. Don't always go with the service offering the lowest price, or hire a service who advertises door-to-door or over the phone, unless you have done thorough research on them.
Ask About Employees and Services Offered
Carpet cleaning services will be entering your home, potentially while you aren't there, so you want to feel comfortable with the business you trust with this responsibility. Ask if the company conducts background checks on employees, as well as if they are insured in your state. Without liability insurance, a mistake that results in damage to your home or furniture may be your responsibility to pay for.
Getting a Quote
If you've found a carpet-cleaning service you can trust, ask to get a quote. This may involve specifying exactly what services you would like performed, as well as the size of your home's carpeted area. Make sure you understand exactly what is included in a quoted price. Some businesses may charge extra to move furniture, clean stairs, or use special treatment methods. It's also common for businesses to sell customers on products and services they don't need. Don't hesitate to ask questions if any detail about the quote is unclear.
Choosing a Carpet Cleaner
If you instead want to rent or buy a carpet-cleaning machine to use yourself, you have many options to pick from.
Since heavy-duty carpet cleaning isn't a frequent activity for most homeowners, many choose to simply rent one of these machines. Of course, renting is usually much cheaper than owning a machine or hiring a service, which is the biggest advantage in this situation. But not all rental units perform equally, and some might require extra drying time or the use of special solvents that will cost more. There's also the time and effort that goes into carpet cleaning - renting a unit means you must also move furniture yourself and pay close attention to ensure you're operating the unit correctly. Making a mistake could mean damaging your carpet or the unit itself. Also, improperly drying carpet could allow harmful bacteria and mold to grow. Before renting a carpet cleaner, make sure you're up for the task at hand.
Owning Your Own
Homeowners can purchase carpet cleaners ranging from compact units to full-size industrial-strength machines. Besides price, take note of the features of a unit and compare them to what you most need from a carpet cleaner. Some models specialize in removing allergens from pet hair, while others may work better on tough stains, for example. Another key consideration: Make sure you have room for it. Some carpet cleaners can be bulky and require ample storage space.
Other features you may want to look for in a cleaning unit include:
- Attachments: Some models include special attachments that work on upholstery, stairs, bare floors, or small spaces.
- Brushes: Some units may not use a brush to agitate the carpet, while others might use a stationary one or multiple actuating brushes.
- Hose length: Bigger machines can be hard to maneuver around a room. Having a detachable hose of considerable length can make it easier to clean open spaces as well as more cramped areas.
Make the right choice in carpet cleaners by considering all the options available to you and how they fit into your needs and budget.
