I’ve always hated going to the gym, but I knew I needed to be more active and more toned to feel better. However, a person cannot maintain a fitness regime if it’s not fun and enjoyable. Not for long anyways. I began my search for that one fun and enjoyable workout about 6 months ago. I’ve tried everything from aerial yoga to pole dancing, and I did not like anything. That is until I found a Groupon for ILKB and decided to give it a try. I was so pleasantly surprised with their kickboxing classes. They were not only fun for me but such a great outlet on stressful days. I became a member not only because I loved the classes but also because the staff there never pushed me too much yet always cheered me on. They are not just fitness instructors but friends as well. ILKB is as they call it a “family”. Once you try a class, you’ll never want to go to a gym or anywhere else. It’s simply the best.

I never liked exercise. I never felt a runner's high. I didn't get excited about going to gym. However, my teenage metabolism is no longer and I needed to be proactive. I noticed this gym was opening in my hood and I decided I would give it shot. Well it actually took about a year before I signed up. I'm slow but determined :)Anyway, this place changed my life. It's more than exercise. It's a community. A group of people, led by the fearless instructors, pushing each other to be better. Sure the classes are great. It's a full body workout and you will sweat. But the instructors are really who set the tone here. They have managed to create an uplifting environment. Even my non-athletic bones feel like I can be Xena after a class. So cheers to this crew. I'm proud to be a member and look forward to losing another 20lbs!
Becoming a member at I Love Kickboxing Philly has been one of the best choices I have made in my adult life – THEE absolute best when it comes to fitness, health & wellness. It is an incredible, high-energy, motivational and FUN way to get or stay fit. Within my first 3 months as a member, I lost 15 pounds and gained strength, muscle, energy and a hobby that sounds pretty badass! The instructors are amazing, full of personality, and tons of fun and are as diverse as the members. (The diversity is one of my favorite aspects this place.) Anyone can do it, and EVERYONE should!
iLoveKickboxing South Philly is a really close-knit cardio kickboxing gym that takes strangers, puts them in a room together for an hour and everyone leaves as friends. The sense of community the instructors build, make the workout fun and comfortable. Class starts with a boot camp warm up, then stretches, then intense bag work (with gloves), followed by some partner exercises and a cool down. Parking is usually always available (kiosk) on the block. The gym also hosts a variety of events such as theme nights and DJ nights to mix up the regular routine. I love them!
I could go to places closer to me, but I don't. I drive to South Philly, park in fear of PPA and I do it regularly. =) This place is bursting full of positive vibes and good energy. It has become like my neighborhood "cheers". The place you go where everybody knows your name. It is a damn hard workout, and doesn't get easier. The instructors continue to keep you motivated and are approachable for advice. I leave feeling disgusting drenched in sweat EVERYTIME, and I love it. The only thing I've been able to consistently stick with in a long time.
ILKB is great for finding motivation. The instructors are really pumped up and have no problem making sure you get your butt in shape! The gym is nice, people are friendly, and they always try to make things special for us - themed DJ nights, member nights at local establishments, etc. I was in a slump prior to joining and now I've already lost 10 pounds!!! It is a bit expensive, but it IS worth it if you're one of those people that really need a lively, personalized workout to get you going. Recommend!
I heard about this gym from my trainer mike. He use doing training at world gym. I can honestly say i have nothing but positive things to say about the gym. From the owner (adam) who is a really down to earth guy and isn't afraid to put in that extra help if you need it. The people are great . Everyone is very respectful. The gym is always very clean and tidy. It's at a great location 1810 grant ave, philadelphia · right off from the blvd you can find it. I'm very glad i joined this gym
I literally love iLoveKickboxing workouts. I have been working out from past 3 years in gym but this place takes fitness to all new level. I have never felt so awesome during and after my workout. They do monthly assessment of your FITNESS journey so that you don't loose track. Staff here always welcome you with the biggest and warmest smile ever. I can't thank you guys enough for making me feel so GOOD. Can’t recommend it enough!!!
My own children study Tang Soo Do martial arts at this studio. The owner is a 7th degree black belt who has been teaching for more than 25 years. The assistant teachers also have more than 20 years of experience each. My children love to come to lessons. As a parent, I love the self-defense instruction and the emphasis on character - respect, concentration and self-control. The tuition is also extremely reasonable!
My son has been training at Oon Karate one year ago today and still going strong. The instructor (Albert) is a high skilled educator that wants nothing more than for his students to meet their potential. Albert educates his students with meaning, getting them to fully understand what they are being taught.Honor, respect and discipline are just a few things I'm proud to see in my son.
