Cyril F Floyd II, DMD

My wife has been going to Dr. Floyd for years. With few problems but her most recent visit prompted me to review. My wife scheduled an appointment to have a cavity filled. That was no problem. However, the next day, an adjacent tooth was causing her a lot of pain and it looked and felt like it was chipped. She thought it may have occurred during the visit but she politely called and set an appointment for the next day without making any accusations. When Dr. Floyd began working on her tooth it resulted in an excruciating amount of pain so much that it brought her to tears. He told her that it shouldn't be hurting that much and continued with the procedure. She asked him if there was another solution or if they could take a second X-ray to ensure nothing had changed since the last visit. He said no and again told her it shouldn't hurt that much and continued working. My wife noticed one of the assistants laughing at her as she walked away. My wife finally yelled in pain and the doctor got up and walked off frustrated. She was written a prescription for swelling and told that the dentist would do nothing else for her.

This is the first experience we have had of poor patient care but its not the first issue we've had. Because he has a limited number of patients he sees, I have to go to another dentist. Also, we have dental insurance but it seems like we always receive a bill for $60-$100 a few weeks later. We always pay off within a few months but not without getting attitude from the front desk. I know patients can be tough to deal with sometimes, but a little respect a kindness goes a long way. My wife will use my dentist now.
