I travel quite a bit and have tried 9 kennels around Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties. I live in Pensacola but am willing to drive a distance if it means my dogs are cared for properly. I have also had friends come by my home to feed them and let them out several times a day. If my pets are stressed it makes me stressed. Both dogs are extremely laid back and easy to care for. By FAR the Blue Poodle has been the easist to deal with. To give you an idea of past experience with other kennels have kept them in small cages, butchered their nails to the point their paws bled for two days. My dogs WILL NOT use the bathroom inside one kennel kept them locked up for at least 14 hours (that I can prove). I was LIVID. One kennel was so loud with barking that I couldn't hear myself talking to the clerk. When I rode by late at night before I had left town the barking was still active. Each time I have picked up my dogs from other kennels (with the exception of one in Milton) they have been sooo ready to get home that when they did they found their bed and didn't move for some time. After being left at Blue Poodle for over a week I was amazed that not only were my dogs healthy, happy and clean but they were in no hurry to get in my vehicle. When we arrived home they acted very relaxed and as if they had been at home the entire time. I will say that the dogs were not ready as early as I would have liked and that did cause a litte scheduling issue BUT, I did pick them up on a saturday - the busiest day of the week so I was understanding. The staff was extremely polite and professional. All charges were the same as I had expected and exactly what had been discussed prior to boarding. One of the best and most convenient perks of Blue Poodle is they are excellent about not charging for extra nights boarding if you pick up pet after 12 noon. If I can't take my dogs with me then they stay at blue poodle. I may be a little crazy about my pets but they have been very good to me and they deserve to be treated well. My dogs are not used to pens, fences or leashes. I like the fact that if your pet is well trained and plays well with others they are allowed to socialize and roam the play areas with other dogs.

After searching this site for their office hours I had to make an account after ready what this "Penny" person said. I've owned many dogs, a couple from Pensacola Animal Shelter. It used to be you adopted a dog for ~50USD, I adopted "Tooty" the owner relinquished Shetland sheep dog when this fee was in place. She was lucky, had an owner who trained her and brought her in looking decent. Tooty was one of the best dogs I've ever owned. As of recent the fee has increased to just under 100USD (A little cheaper for 3+ years). With the increased fee you now get vaccination (minus rabies), spay/neuter, routine veterinary checks for health risks, and verification of a "non-aggressive" breed. The kennels are warmed, "non-adoptables" are hidden from vision, the staff love their jobs and if you run into one having a bad day there are many other you can request. This is a second chance for some abused animals and it takes longer than a week to undo the damage some owners do unto their animals. A few months ago we adopted Buddha from there, and he was exactly what you described as "sickly", he was down to the bones. We asked about his past and he had been removed from the streets, it was not their fault he looked the way he did. Casting a negative review for a business establishment because you took offense to what things looked like without understanding where your feet were standing makes a good business look bad. I want people to know what you saw may have been so, but some of those dogs are in recovery and it doesn't matter if you scrub a sick dogs kennel every half an hour it's still going to use the restroom.
I have adopted from here and I must say it was a wonderful experience. I was treated with respect, shown all of the lovely animals, and my adoption process was pretty standard and easy. I have adopted from a few rescues and have never had an issue with any of them. Adoption fee was standard, same as all of the others, and process was standard as well. I actually preferred the way they were so detailed with their process as it made me confident that they were sending the animals to good homes. I received vet records and my baby was up to date on all of her vaccines. I took her to the vet she was seeing and everyone was nice there as well. Walking in, I could tell everyone was passionate about helping the cats and dogs here. It was clean, everyone was very attentive of all of the pets there. I highly recommend adopting from the Hotel for Dogs and Cats. They really seem to have the pets best interest at heart. Adopting from here and seeing the passion of these people really made me want to volunteer at a rescue. Thank you to the Hotel for bringing Gumbo into my life, and for all the hard work you do.
My husband and I boarded our two golden retrievers, Loki and Cyndir, for a few months in 2008. We're both in the military and were in need of long-term boarding for our pup's. We absolutely loved Cain's Dog House and wish we could find a place just like it now that we're in need of long-term boarding again (only in a different state this time)! Our dogs were treated like family, kept together in the same area, fed their favorite foods and treats and were given so much love and attention while they were there that I fear we will never be able to compete! The staff were very friendly and even allowed me to bring them along to a local dog beach on one of my weekend visits! I couldn't be happier with the care that my two dogs received while my husband and I were house-less for a bit. I only wish I had thought to submit a review before now.
Forget about going to the places with names that sound like they are all about your puppy!!! This place is the place to go!!! My family and I first feel in love with the way the staff assisted us over the phone. When we pulled into the parking lot, my kids loved the sign with a dog in a Blue Angel jet! We went in and they had other pets walking around and looking so at home! We dropped our puppy off for a quick trim, nails clipping, etc. They called us later when he was ready and boy did he look so amazing! He was so happy and even had a snazzy bandana around his neck! We are not going anywhere else for our puppy and any future furry family members that may come along. They are, by far, worthy of 10 stars!
I agree with Daniel,i am in the military and when i was looking to board my 4 dogs i checked this place out, since my dogs would be staying(for up to months at a time) i wanted to check the place out really well, the lobby was very very small. i asked for a boarding tour and the boarding facility looked ok, except the smell of urine. we then went to the play yard and its very small as well mad up of 100% dirt. needless to say the yard was pitiful. I then asked the boding girl how often the dogs go out and she said just to potty but i try to let them play for a little before they go in, i dont like that, not to mention the girl seemed out of it, just wont be boarding here but their grooming seemed nice
I recently boarded three of my dogs with Blue Angel Pet Salon. I couldn't be happier. I checked around and found that they had the lowest prices. I met with the owner to go over my dogs special needs and what a great guy! They are willing to do whatever it takes to take care of your babies. While I was on vacation I called to check on my dogs and they always were able to tell me exactly how they were doing. I asked to have my one dog groomed before my return and it was the best groom she has ever received and it was also about 20 dollars cheaper than I am used to. They also gave my 2 other dogs a bath for free! I cant say enough about the staff there. They have a customer for life with me!
Just tried out this company. My dog was watched by their boarding services for over 7 days and nights. I picked my baby up today and he was in great condition, he was happy, he was healthy and well he looked like he had been home with his family and not stressed out in a kennel. VERY HAPPY. I also had him cleaned, hair cut, and nails cut..... he looks wonderful. No problems at all, matter of fact he has an awesome Mohawk that fits his personality to a T. I can not explain with words how happy I am, I was a stressed out mommy and my dog looks and acts like he has been on vacation, not stressed at all. Recommend highly.
I have never been to such a great pet salon! They really care about your pet there. I am always met at the door and me and my dog are both greeted! I am checked in and then have a one on one with the groomer to let her know exactly what I want done. I love the fact that dogs are kept in seperate pens and not in cages. When I pick up my dog I get to go over everything with the groomer to make sure I recieved the clip I wanted. They also are the most resonably priced groomer I have found. I love this place and so does my dog!
I love this store. They have good quality items and the employees are always very nice and friendly to me. I find something great every time I visit this store. The prices are very fair and cheaper than a certain other "well known" big thrift shop where everyone shops. Give this store a try, and you will see that it is a hidden treasure in Pensacola. Shame on people who complain and make a fuss to get a lower price. They have really good bargains, and I'm a regular shopper there.
