After a 12 month hiatus, we went back to Oyster Bar last night. From my previous review, I cited poor service & disinterest +incompetency from management as the main reasons for our discontent. Yesterday was my Uncle's birthday & he wanted to go back, so without complaining, we went. We were promptly greeted at the door and shown to our table. The person seating us turned out to the be manager, Leslie. She pointed out our server, Nicole, was busy with a large party and would be with us shortly. Nicole came over promptly and introduced herself. The difference between her approach & attitude was night & day from our last visit. Nicole is personable, efficient, & very sweet. The drinks were quickly served & our food orders taken. The food arrived hot, with a smile. All of our food was great except one of our party had the special, which was a stuffed grouper. The fish was left too long in the oven & the bottom of the filet was so hard we couldn't cut through it with a fork. We informed Nicole & she immediate apologized and as we were mostly done with our meals, offered the person a piece of pie as recompense, which we accepted. After the meal was finished, we called over Nicole & Leslie to share our feedback on our visit that evening, as well as to inform them I would be writing an update today to my review from last year. Both were very grateful. In further discussion, both of them were familiar with my review from last year! Based on other reviews I have read here, I hope that my last review contributed to correcting the course of the restaurant over the last year, as many seemed to have had a similar bad experience last year with the service. I hope that this review contributes to maintaining this corrected course as it is a sure fire win! I hope that all of you with unpleasant experiences will go back & give them another chance. Thank you to Nicole & Leslie. We will be adding Oyster Bar back to our list of favorites
We own at the Eden Condominium complex. We drive down twice a year and the Crab Trap is always our first dinner in town after our 11 hour drive. With consistently good food, good service, & a value priced menu, it is one of our staples. Last night we came in and had dinner served by Justin. One member of our party ventured beyond her usual meal and was not happy with her choice. Not that the dish wasn't well prepared, it just wasn't to her taste. Justin noticed she had eaten very little of her meal and inquired about it. She explained that it was fine just not to her taste. Justin immediately inquired if he could get her something else. She declined. Unbeknownst to us, Justin went to his manager Angel and told her about the meal. Angel came over and explained she had taken the meal off the bill and asked again if she could get another meal for us. We were shocked. We hadn't asked for the discount and were impressed the staff had taken it upon themselves to ensure we were happy & would come back. We reiterated that the meal choice had been the issue, not the meal itself, but they were insistent they would rather we have no regrets and come back than keep the price of a poor choice. We will be keeping this on the staple list and are very glad that our business is so appreciated :)
Well the only thing I can say about the food is that it is exceptional!!!!! The atmosphere is also amazing. The only problem I encountered was the wait staff. A little girl, Kiley had served me and was just a little too nosey for my taste. She was litterally at my table the whole time I felt like, my wife and I didn't have a minute to ourselves! And on top of that, we were stuck sitting next to two younger gentleman that Kiley continued to serve alcoholic beverages to until they were completley billigerant and obnoxious!! They made the poor girl she was training completley uncomfortable, making rude comments and gestures, but Kiley just kept right on serving them!! I always thought, especially in a place like the Fish House the staff monitored peoples drinking a little better especially when it affects other peoples experience at the restaurant, but I guess not. That could potentially be a lawsuit in the future, especially if they drive home like that!!!
I live in Pittsburgh, Pa and visited some family in Pensacola. They took me to the Fish House during my stay. It was probably the best food I have ever eaten in a restaurant in my life. First of all it is located right on the water with views of boats and the bay. I tried the Grits a ya ya which I was told by our server, Scottie was the Fish house's signature dish - world famous - he said. I have never tasted such a thing. Gouda cheese grits with shrimp, spinach, bacon, portobello mushrooms with this creamy sauce my mouth is watering just thinking about it. I also had the key lime pie for desert. They make it there and it was authentic and delicious. My relatives had surf and turf and grouper. We had a great time. I even bought their cookbook. I can't wait to go back again. Awesome!!!
Read many reviews good and bad. Decided to go for lunch since the prices were about $10 cheaper a person for entrees. Ordered blackened snapper, cheese grits, & grilled veggies. Tasted the pecan crusted grouper. Everything was excellent! The grits lived up to their well known name. Also had the volcano roll as an appetizer which was also very good. Server was very nice! Wanted to sit outside, but the rest of the group didn't. Inside was nice with fish tanks but I didn't like sitting so close to other groups of people. I'm not much of a complainer though, so it wasn't bad. Overall I would recommend this restaurant!
This is only the second review I have ever posted. The first was about a bad experience at a store but really came on here to write about the Oar House. First they offer a Military discount which is wonderful. I love the idea that anyone and everyone support our Military every day of the year! Now having said that, the view is spectacular and the food is really good. We usually go here on weekday to avoid crowd and have always had great service and the atmosphere goes from slightly boisterous (friendly comradery) to peaceful and calm - either is always good fun.
I loved the way this restaurant looks. It is all outside... like being under a tiki hut. The food is great, bands play on certain nights, it has a volleyball court on white sand, right on the water. The only bad thing I have to say about this resturant is that every time I have been there... it seems to take forever to get our food. the prices can be a little high.. but just being there is worth it. I think maybe if they trained their hostesses and waitresses to work a little harder/faster.. it would have been a perfect experience!
This place is not easy to find, but is SO worth the extra work! We tried eating here our last trip down to our condo, but there was over an hour wait for a table. We planned ahead & reserved a table so we were set! The service was attentive & Brent was great! The food was incredible! It is truly Creole/Cajun, the likes of which I have seldom seen out side of Louisiana :) Based on our experience, Fisherman's Corner would have been worth the hour plus wait in September! This has 100% made our list of staples when we are in town.
I took my family to Bonefish Grill tonight. The waitress was great & very patient answering all of our questions. We finally ordered our food & a little bit later the manager came up & explained that the computer had a glitch & our order did not stay in the system so it was never prepared. They reordered our food & because of the delay, took care of our bill & sent us home with desert. This our second time going & there will be more visits! Thank you to the manager, our waitress & the rest of the staff for an awesome night.
We went in for a late lunch and should have passed. It seems that the crew was changing shift as the waitress who took our drink order was not the one who waited on us for our meal. we only ordered fried food but it seems we got left overs from the kitchen. Half the food was cold half was not. It took 35 min. to get our meal and there were only 6 other people in the place at the time. We really gave this place a try, multiple times, but have dissapointed again and again. We won't be going back.
