Let me just say, I always like to do reviews of new places/products I try because I always read reviews about new places/products before I try them.. & please believe me when I say that everything I'm saying here is 100% true. I feel the need to let others know about my experience here.. First off, I do want to say that TIFFANY that works here is great, very sweet, professional, & talented. I got my hair cut & eyebrows waxed by her & she did awesome.. 2 days later my sister had an appt with Karen to get lowlights & blue peek a boo blue streaks.. (Let me just go ahead & throw in here some of the behavior displayed during our visit.. At one point the other owner was sitting in a hair chair next to us on the phone with a collections agency yelling & cussing him out.. I went outside for a few mins just to get away from her! Then she passed the phone to Karen, while she was doing my sisters hair, & Karen proceeded to fuss/cuss at the man on the phone followed by calling him the N word.. We were absolutely apalled.. She also had her toddler son there at work with her who was running around the whole shop on all fours, who she kept fussing at & then said to him "I wish your dad would wake his a$$ up & come get you." .... classy.) So back to what she did to my sister's hair.. So the simple task of putting brown low lights & blue streaks underneath in my sister's blonde hair.. Sounds simple, doesn't it? Well first go round she didn't put lowlights throughout her head, just the top portion. So when my sister pulled her hair back into ponytail position, it looked like she had a mohawk of lowlights.. So Karen put some more in, then she didn't get them even close to the scalp.. There was a good 1 inch of blonde from the scalp to where the low lights started.. When my sister showed her this Karen then threw down her comb & walked away & said "Well I don't know what to do, it looks fine to me, I'm done with your hair."... & then goes over to continue to talk badly about us to the other owner. Let me just say, I am only 22 yrs old, & I know nothing about running a business.. But this is NOT professional behavior.. & you're a co-owner of this shop? With that kind of attitude/behavior, I can guarantee this shop will not still be around this time next year. & just as well, I don't know much about doing hair, however I do know that when you walk out of getting your hair "professionally colored", you should not have 1 inch of uncolored roots! All Karen kept saying was "Idk what you're talking about, it looks fine to me." While the other stylist there along with other customers that were there were even pointing out the roots in her hair.. Karen who smugly claims "I've been doing this for 20 years" just couldn't swallow her pride for 2 seconds, realize that there was still some work that needed to be done, & do it! Instead she refused to finish my sisters hair & still tried to charge full price! Never in my life have I seen such unprofessional behavior in a hair salon, & I am still in shock that she is a co-owner. Like I said, they won't be around much longer. & I am even more shocked that she's supposedly been doing this for 20 yrs, but still managed to screw up my sisters hair & act like an immature child about it, & refuse to finish it. & then talk bad about us, while we were still there.. Like I said, Tiffany that works here was awesome when she did service for me.. But I wouldn't be able to bring myself to going back into that shop. It's cheap, only $13 for a haircut.. But when you pay cheap prices, you usually get cheap service.. I will gladly go back to paying $30 for a haircut to make sure I am in a professional environment with people who know what they are doing.
Most comfortable spa experience of any spa I have visited. Great service, great environment, and overall great experience.

I've gone in to this Cuts By Us on 3 seperate occasions. The first time I took my 4 y/o daughter in for her first haircut and we saw Denise. She was very pleasant and was chatting and playing around w/ my daughter as she cut her hair. This helped SOO much as my child is a special needs child and was a little scared. I had simply asked to have the dead ends trimmed (ok she was 4, her hair was to her bottom and never been cut before, I fully expected a good 2-3 in would be cut off b/c there was alot of dead, dry hair needing to come off) and her hair needed to be cut so it was even and not so many random lengths. 20 min later she declared she was done... ummm... she'd trimmed maybe 1/2 in off total and insisted that was all that was needing trimmed. I asked about it being evened out on the ends and was told that 'due to her hair being curly it looks to be different lengths, but it's not' Annoyed that I just wasted my money on a cut that was not satisfactory, I took my child home. About 2 months later I took my other daughter in for a trim and was seen by a man, Ricky, who was amazing! He trimmed her hair and insisted how she was going to look just like a princess, etc. She loved every minute of him doing her hair. He was great! Trimmed it beautifully and she left so proud of her new cut. Because we were so impressed w/ him, two days later I took my 4y/o back in to see him. Again great haircut, he got rid of the 3 1/2 in of dead hair that needed trimmed.. which should have been taken care of the first time!! She now has much healthier looking hair! I wouldn't even give a single star based on the cut by Denise, however due to the great job Ricky did, I can make it up by giving this place 3 stars. I will probably not return again for anything shy of a trim for my kids.
Teresa is amazing and super friendly! I wish I could remember everyone's name that was working at the time. A very welcoming atmosphere. I went in because my hair was a disaster, not unhealthy, just long and no shape. I went in without an appointment, was seen right away and described what I wanted. And no more than 30 minutes later I had EXACTLY what I wanted. My hair is naturally, curly as can be, but I straighten it all the time. She was able to cut my hair (while wet) into a shape that works the way I want it to when straight. And this is the first time I don't have to get it fixed at all. I cannot tell you the last time that I didn't end up having to pay for 2 cuts because someone messed it up, so it's a big deal! So a Huge Thank You to Teresa! She knows her stuff! And to the other cosmetologists that were there, Thank You for being so friendly to myself and my daughter while she waited for me.
first and foremost, I love my hair cuts that I got the 2 times I've been there. My negative comments are that both times when I went there NO ONE ever greeted me...the third time I was bringing my mother and we sat for over 10 minutes before someone asked if we had an appointment, I said yes and told her who we were seeing....no one bothered to tell her we were there so after 15 minutes passed our appointment, we left. Today I had an appointment and was asked after about 5 minutes of sitting there, who I was waiting for and when I told her, I was told she was in the back...again NO ONE bothered to tell her I was there. She did come out and got a lady from under the dryer and sat her in the chair so I left. I will now be finding a new hair salon where hopefully they make you feel welcomed.....this salon has a big sign that says walk ins welcome, but even with an appointment I never felt welcomed.
Hands down the BEST stylist in Pensacola! I went to another salon downtown this morning and they did a hideous blotchy color job on my hair that looked absolutely nothing like the picture i gave them! It was truly a disaster of epic proportions! Fortunately, the universe had other plans and somehow i came across Outre' Salon online. Becky, who is obviously a hair angel sent from above, and a fairy sprinkling her magical beauty dust everywhere she goes, and the one and only hair whisperer all rolled into one, was kind enough to stay late and get me in right away to help! I rushed down there and not only did she fix my heart-breaking hair catastrophe, she gave me the best hair color i have EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!!!! I'm telling you, don't settle for mediocre anywhere else in town when you can have the best at Outre' Salon .....
I went to this salon after searching the web. Tired of never getting the same hairstylist twice at the budget salon, I decided to pay 4 times more in the hopes of finding a great, consistent stylist. Although the stylist who cut my hair looked on the internet and in magazines to see the Lisa Rinna cut I wanted, and assured me we would go slow so the cut wasn't too short, the first cut in was too short. It's a good cut done with a razor, it feels good and will hopefully look better once it grows out. My stylist took a personal cellphone call as she cut my hair, a pet peeve of mine. I got an itchy scalp that I can only trace back to the shampoo used. If you are allergic to botanicals, speak up. Know exactly what you want and bring a picture if possible.
Went to this salon to have my hair colored and trimmed and my entire experience was AMAZING. My hairdresser took the time to listen to what I wanted and didn't make me feel rushed at all. She asked questions too, to make sure she got it right. We laughed and cut up the whole time I was there and the mood in there is so uplifting and everyone is so sweet. Anyways, I wanted to have my hair dyed burgundy from dark brown. It turned out so BEAUTIFUL! I have not stopped receiving compliments on how shiny and gorgeous my color is! My cut was exactly what I asked for. She listened to me...once again....and delivered EXACTLY what I asked for. I will go back for all my hair appointments. And I live in mobile...so that's saying something. And I will recommend to everyone.
I originally went to this salon because I've been getting my hair cut from Ashley Cruz for years and I dedicated customer! She moved to this salon and I am so glad she did I love it. Just like the other reviewer it feels personal and exclusive. They are always polite and offer a drink on walking in then when you make your way in you go through the halls into your own personal space/room with the stylist. If really feels relaxing and not like other salons that feel like a chop shop. This actually has walls separating some stylist (ex: 2 salon chairs per room). I have never been to a salon like this and I will forever be a loyal customer just because they really make you feel at home and in place. And the atmosphere is the icing on the cake!
Monique, I came across your place while looking for a catering company. I am very concerned regarding the words you wrote................'it is less stressful when you have competent employees doing the job they are supposed to be licensed for'.........................STOP RIGHT THERE. Are you telling me your previous employees were doing things to me and they did not have a license to do so???????????? I'm taking this from your comment made on 8/25/09 in response to Brendaage26. Brenda and Em made valid points, you do let your personal life interfere in your business and you do yell and talk about others. I thought I was one of your confidants, but apparently not. I don't know what to make of the postings I read. Liz
This written review is only for the Sorrento Road location (I haven't been to the other two/few) because of all the poor reviews from others. This was a great spot for me to get a hair-cut for the past 4 years and I've never been dissapointed. Of course I always got a millitary type haircut (0 guard, fade, edge around the ears, scissor top) so I can't speak for the coloring, etc. But, if you're coming PCS to the area, I highly recommend it. I went to the NEX and since they only issue 'boot camp' hair cuts and I've been in for 8 years, that didn't work. So, I'm glad I found Cuts by Us and it's a plus that they're conveniently close to base/gov't housing (Mariner Village). Military discount included (ask for it). Nice folks, decent price too.
