This credit union uses trickery to charge OD fees. Online accounts are not accurately reported when you log in to check balance. I closed the account and refused to pay them OD fees and they reported it as a loan to the credit bureaus. The only thing they will ever get from me is the bird when I drive by them.
I originally had 3 real estate loans for over 10 years with Gulf Winds Federal Credit Union. I paid off one and tried to work with them on the other 2. They were not helpful after months of requests. I would NEVER use or recommend them to any one else.Jeff
I have been a bank teller and have never seen so much mass confusion in a bank. When I opened my account I was not told I could not have temporary checks until I asked a couple of days later. I had no atm card and no way to get to my money because I work 9-5. WHAT? no Saturday hours? That's unheard of. Then, I got a day off and tried to call to get some account info and was 64th in line on the callers list. Then I was told at the bank that I cannot call a local branch because they are not cleared to give any account information because they don't identify over the phone. Its not rocket science. get a birthday, ss# or account #. Also, today as I tried to call the number given (479.9601) to get account info, I was given the option to press 9 to get the extension number I wanted. I pressed 9 and then it asked for the ext #. good. then after I pressed 642 for the extension, it rang about 10 times and took me back to the original greeting, over and over. this bank and its service sucks.
Go to any other credit union besides this one!! Navy Fed, Pen Air, etc. This bank is so greedy and will not work with you. I had an accidental payment to the power company come out of this account which caused the account to overdraft, it's obvious I don't use the account as a primary and they charged me $34 3x. Once for power (understandable) then 2 more times for $1 and some change transactions. Called to see if would remove any of the fees and explained what happened and they promised to call me back and never did. Do business with a company who cares about their members and not this place. Half the time there is only 1 person working the front counter and the drive through as well,so don't go in a hurry. Should've gone with my gut the 1st time I walked in the loby to inq on opening an account and nobody spoke to me so I left. Only reason I came back because they were close to my house. Big mistake
Service was rude. In particular Lisa Washington who is on a major power trip. We have been customers for 17 years (business and personal). We will be moving our accounts now as this is no way to treat long term clients.
Been a member since the 1980's. Great loan rates. Service is excellent. Great mobile app to manage everything online. Branch locations downtown, Cordova, and Nine Mile Road. When problems have come up, they always work things out to satisfaction.
