General Info
About the Artist A native of Long Island, Cindy moved to the Rochester area at the age of 13. Upon graduating high school she headed back to NYC to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology from which she graduated with heavy emphasis on figure drawing. FIT endowed Cindy with a scholarship for academic achievement. After graduating from college Cindy worked as a graphic designer/illustrator for McCurdy's advertising department and then on to an advertising agency where she worked as an art director. After four and a half years, she left the agency and started her own design business where much, but not all, work was computer generated. Cindy was commissioned for many years by RG&E to do a portrait of their annual Brigg's award winner, whereby the winner was presented with their framed portrait. Cindy resides in Penfield along with her two children, Mollie 14 years and Meagan 9 years. She prefers to work in oil and pastels and her subject matter is usually figures, portraits and animals. About five and a half years ago Cindy and her friend Teri, taught art lessons out of Teri's house. As interest in lessons grew and seeing a real need for a local art supply store Cindy and Teri Bracht decided to open The Art Stop. The store started out on the second floor, of 12 North Ave., about 1000 sq. feet and that included the lesson area! Now the store has tripled it's space and has added on a fine art gallery featuring all local artists work and a custom frame shop. The second floor space is now dedicated to lessons and birthday parties. Cindybought out her partner in March of 2007 and is now the sole proprietor of The Art Stop LLC. Just South of Dunkin Doughnuts near the corner of Main Street and North Ave. next to Veteran's Memorial Park.

I can always rely on The Art Stop when it comes to finding the harder materials that not majority of stores carry.

I have gone to The Art Shop LLC to buy different supplies as well as take classes. I bought books for my grand-kids, pens, and supplies for myself.

I have been taking some drawing classes at The Art Stop and I could not be more happy to do so. I've been going on and off for around two years and also enjoy bringing my kids as well.

I have been a customer of the Art Shop now for about 1 year now, and I keep going back because the classes are great, and the staff is fantastic. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and always welcoming. My only request is that there should be a bigger room so that many more people could come, because it is that much fun.

The Art Stop is a wonderful place to have some fun. I like that they help by putting some idea's laid out for what the project is you want to do. It helps you make decisions and think of things you might not have in the first place.

I found The Art Stop to be a great place for a painting and drawing class I sent my daughter to. She learned so much and had a really good time. They brought fun items into class and the kids had a great time.

What I like most about The Art Stop is the variety of supplies and classes offered. It is always fun to stop by and see what is new there. They have amazing customer service too!

The selection of supplies here is unreal! They always have every thing that I am looking for, and usually many brands of it so I have an option of what I want to pay for each tool. Thankful to have found a place like the art stop to get all my supplies because they know the answers to my questions because it is their specialty.

I first started coming here from a Groupon that I got for a glass art class. But I really like it. The staff is friendly and my overall experience is very pleasant.
