I've eaten at Lesters since their original restaurant in Monroe, and now that I live in Baton Rouge, I drive down occasionally. I'm not exaggerating when I say I compare every shrimp po boy I eat against Lester's, and, inevitably, something is off. Their portions are generous, they use great, fresh gulf shrimp, unlike the salad shrimp you see on some po boys, and what seals the deal -- their bread. Everything I've had has been great, all the way down to the beignets. Do yourself a favor and check it out!
