Suffolk Music Center

Truly an awful "music center". Have to be vague because the owner probably reads these reviews (but couldn't care less clearly). Shop is dirty, people are very unfriendly, owner couldn't be bothered helping you or even saying hi without being condescending as you entered his crappy establishment. Instruments are not taken care of especially the rental equipment. There is zero customer service and it's almost as if they don't want new customers and chase you out the door as soon as you walk in. I love to support local family businesses but not this one. The owner has to be the nastiest person I have met in business, really an awful person. Much better music shops around that take time to show their customers they appreciate their business.

I rented a trumpet for my son and had to return it 3 weeks later for service. I purchased the additional service contract for $19.99 so I thought this would be easy. This was the worst experience with a business owner I have ever had. He told me my son had dropped it and lost a piece! He only used it one time. Any damage on the instrument was there WAY before I rented it. The owner insisted it was in perfect condition before I rented it and that my son was responsible for the damage. If you have ever seen any of the rental instruments, there, you would see how old and beat up they look. I cancelled my contract, lost my money and walked out of there. Don't make the same mistake I made. Go to the Musician's Place in Holbrook. Beautiful instruments and friendly service.

As soon as we walked in the door we were bombarded by a man who asked us what we needed, followed us to the section, and wouldn't give us a second alone to browse. He was super pushy, and at one point called me stupid for asking for a 5 foot cable. He then sold me two of the wrong cables which we had to return. I had wanted to shop there for other items but didn't want to spend one more second in that store.

Very shady business. My student went here to have his keyboard repaired and they totally ripped him off. Said they'd fix it in a week and it's been over a month. They keep finding new things wrong with it, and the owner Frank even hung up on my student when he complained! Avoid at all costs.
