When a car is damaged by an accident or weather, what can be repaired and what must be replaced? Or is it time to buy a new car?
No matter whether an accident involved a freshly licensed teen or an experienced driver, knowing what to do (or not do) is essential to bouncing back.
All it takes is a little preparation to get your car winter-ready and to keep from getting into an icy situation.
My husband and I have purchased 3 RV's from Broadmoor RV over the past 12 years. We have compared prices and inventory among all other local RV dealers as well as many in Spokane and other surrounding areas. Broadmoor RV has always had the best prices, a large inventory to choose from and extremely friendly non-pushy staff. Even when we weren't sure exactly what we were looking for, as our family grew and our camping needs changed, the sales staff were patient, knowledgeable and friendly. Our second purchase came when a staff member kept us in mind and called when they received in on trade the perfect RV for our family. Our most current RV was purchased when another Broadmoor employee called and asked if we were happy with our current RV. While we were happy with it, our 4 growing children no longer fit in the bunk bed model we had purchased 4 years earlier. I personally gave the employee a challenge of exactly what it would take to get us to upgrade to a new RV. While I thought the challenge was impossible, the employee called later that afternoon with yet again the perfect RV for our family. We signed the papers the next evening. My husband and I won't buy from another dealer. We have been extremely happy with every purchase and won't shop anywhere else. We would highly recommend Broadmoor RV to anyone looking to purchase an RV.
A few weeks back we decided to buy a 5th Wheel to replace our older Class A. Broadmoor RV was one of our short list of options based on their reputation, size and variety of choices. They had all of the most highly rated brands as well as variety within each type that we were interested in seeing as we worked through our decision making process. Their sales team was a single point of contact. We recommend Matt! Our questions were answered precisely and the negotiation was very simple. We paid a price for the Highland Ridge Ultra Light lower than any other dealer where we research that specific rig. There is truth to their slogan: "We flat out sell 'em for less". The support side of the business as we were given the run through on the features and use of our new 5th Wheel was very thorough and easily consumed. We made a few additions and customizations to the new rig and received excellent support from the service team as well. They showed genuine care across their teams: Sales, Parts and Service. They focused all of the efforts to make sure my wife and I were 100% satisfied with our entire experience at Broadmoor RV. I will be referring all of my friends to this wonderful dealership. Thanks Matt, Travis, Jill, Skyler and John for taking us during our purchase from Broadmoor RV.
Just want you all at Russ Dean how very very much we appreciate ALL that you have done for us. We were having some problems that needed attention on our 5th wheel and you all went above and beyone to work with us. Lora was our representative and she was just the most helpful and nicest lady. Also, those we haven't met or delt directly with went out of their way to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. And Joe, he is one of the nicest and most helpful man we have ever met. Met him while walking my dogs and asked questions about our service and how things were going. He wanted to know if there was anything he could do to make our stay "in the back" more comfortable. Well, we were comfortable and all our needs were met. He just wanted to be sure and let me say that I sure wouldn't mind being part of your Russ Dean family. THank you everyone for your wonderful service and kindness. I will always recommend Russ Dean to anyone interested in buying an rv. I just wish my family lived here because I would send them over. Thank you again and I wish you all many years of success.
We were coming home to Canada when our fan broke off on our Newmar Essex motorhome. We checked out all the big truck shops in Pasco and the said they would iBook at it in about two weeks. Well we were on the road with six dogs and three cats, not a good situation. I drove up to the Service dept of Broadmoor rv and talked to Mitch the service manager there and he said they would get right on it. Then they unhooked our stalker trailer and plugged it into power ( we have two deep freezers in the staker). Then put our motorhome in the shop checked it out and had the parts first day aired to the shop (parts were at the east coast). Then they told us we could stay in there shop in our motorhome until repairs were done. They had us back on the road in 3 days which was amazing. Mitch and his staff were incredible, very efficient , helpful and very understanding. I hate to think of what we would have done if it wasn't for there help. We thank you and will never forget how you took a bad situation and made it better
We purchased a Motor Home September 2008 from Russ Dean R.V. and from the Sales Department to the Service Department, the staff and Management of this Company cannot be surpassed.Cheryl from sales knew exactly what we were looking for and didn't try to sell us something else. She kept looking until she found exactly what we wanted. The sales manager made sure all of our requests were met. Mike, Customer Care Manager took care of making sure that everything was working properly and fixing the things that weren't. He also did a walk thru and made it clear he was available at anytime if we had any questions or problems and his word is gold, because he did, and does exactly what he promises. Lora, Service Advisor, made sure the service was completed and on time. These are just a few of the people who worked directly with us, but there were others, all of whom were exceptionally courteous and helpful. Thanks to All of you. You have exceeded our expectations!!!!!!
My experience with the customer service and sales at Broadmoor RV was a breath of fresh air. We had just moved to the area and they made us feel welcome, as well as a friend. It was honestly one of the best customer service experiences we have ever had. They answered every question, and if they didn't know the answer they would find it out immediately. The sales guy (Shane) was down-to-earth and respected the limits of our finances. The guy who showed us everything about our camper (Josh) was very helpful and respectful and more than willing to acquire our requests. Anyone who sat at the front desk was extremely nice and accommodating. The sales manager made us feel very welcome and introduced himself to us, even though he was not working with us. When you leave the facility, you feel positive about a decision with no buyers remorse. I highly recommend this business to anyone who is seeking a new or used RV. This place is the definition of a great business.
We had a wonderful experience at Broadmoor purchasing our 2013 Class C Sunseeker. We got a better deal than anyone was offering in the US...believe me I looked. The purchasing process was fast and easy. The walk through 4 days later was detailed and informative. I was up-sold on some items which at the time I was thinking here we go with the added costs. However, I used the coupon they gave me for 20% off parts and come to find out I used every one of the items they sold me. Service has always been very responsive to my needs and parts has been great as well. I also know that if I ever needed to address an issue the general manager said his door is always open. While this is my first experience as an owner I have rented RVs from Broadmoor and Russ D*** among others over the last 10 years. I have always been treated better at Broadmoor in every aspect. I have no issues recommending them for sales, parts and/or service.
I was shopping for a specific model of Jayco trailer, and the price from my local (Western WA) dealer seemed high, so I sought out other Jayco dealers, including Broadmoor RV, for comparative pricing for the same model. The sales agent I worked with was extremely helpful, even though he knew I was comparison shopping, and I have to say - I am very impressed with both this dealership and this sales agent. In the end, I went with the more local dealer after they reduced their price, but it was a hard decision because the price at Broadmoor was so much lower, and the customer service and connection was well above what I expected. There was no pressure, but good honest help and information. These guys are good, they provide customer service at an exceptional level. I can't help but not HIGHLY RECOMMEND this business to others. I would certainly buy from Broadmoor RV in the future!
We had a wonderful experience with sales. Angel didn't even complain when we kept her late pondering our choice and still didn't decide. We ended up buying a 2013 Class C Sunseeker and got a better deal than anyone was offering in the US...believe me I looked. The purchasing process was fast and easy. The walk through 4 days later was detailed and informative. I was up-sold on some items which at the time I was thinking here we go with the added costs. However, I used the coupon they gave me for 20% off parts and come to find out I used every one of the items they sold me. I have no issues recommending them for sales, parts and/or service.
Our previous experience at a very poor RV dealer left us pretty low, Broadmoor's ability to move us out of a bad situation into what has turned out to be a fun camping experience is a delight. The sales department was very professional. We really appreciate the work our sales person did. He bent over backwards to ensure we had a not only good but great experience at Broadmoor. He was not pushy but was there to answer any concerns we may have had. He listened and got us into the RV that met our needs. The sales manager and finance personnel are second to none, they were there to answer questions and make buying this RV a very positive experience. We feel that we received the RV of our choice and one that fit our needs and we can't say enough good things about the people at Broadmoor in creating a very positive buying experience.
There are more than 700,000 auto service technicians and mechanics in the U.S. Finding the right one to repair a dent in your car door or fix an engine that won't start can be overwhelming, especially when it's an emergency. Review a few important facts about auto repair professionals and what you can do to get the best possible mechanic working on your vehicle's issues for a fair price.
Looking For Reliability
Unlike home repair services that evaluate a property, meet with homeowners and have time to prepare before their physical work begins, auto repair businesses are often asked to make fixes on the spot. If you come into a garage with a tire issue, the expectation is the mechanic will know how to correct that problem quickly.
That is why reliability is so vital when searching for a trusted auto repair shop. It may take going to several different mechanics before you find one you are truly comfortable with. Pose questions to this professional to find out what approach they will take to repair your car or what alternatives are available. Shopping around also gives you the best opportunity to find the cheapest rate or the fastest service, as some garages may be backed up with other vehicles that need repair first.
A recommended way to locate a trustworthy auto repair professional is to seek out customer reviews. Online sites offer honest opinions from real customers who have used a business. Read through this feedback to learn how a business operates and what you can expect if you were to take your vehicle there. Look for reviews about how quick maintenance was completed and if prices were fair. By learning what other people have said about a garage, you can gain a better idea if it's the right place to go when you have a car problem in need of fixing.
It can be difficult to know which automotive problems are serious enough to require expert assistance. A ripped seat cushion or broken radio don't involve safety and will not warrant enough of a problem that going into a garage is required. However, setbacks with brakes, lights and other parts that are vital to the safety of your car's driver and passengers, as well as others on the road, necessitate quick fixes. Many modern automobiles will notify drivers of an issue, in the form of a signal on the dashboard or a noise within the vehicle.
In the event of an accident, even if your vehicle does not appear to have any damage on the outside, it is generally recommended that you see a trusted auto repair professional. Internal damage may have occurred, or an important part may have been knocked out of place. Fixing these issues before driving much further can prevent further vehicle breakdowns in the future. In the case of a serious accident, a body shop can assess the problems and determine the best course of action for repairs, as well as evaluate how much they will cost.
Beyond that, regular checkups are recommended. Tires must be rotated, fluids needs to be replaced and the engine must be evaluated. After driving 25,000 miles, most auto dealers suggest having the vehicle checked out to ensure everything is running smoothly. Taking the car into the auto repair professional you trust will protect you from further problems down the road.
Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop. At the same time, be aware of mechanic scams that can impact your experience.
Preventing Trips To The Professional
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage. By handling these types of tasks on your own, you'll gain a better understanding for how your car operates and save time and money.
Along with understanding how to fix manageable vehicle issues that may arise, taking preventative measures to avoid future problems is a valuable time saver. Many problem-solving best practices are related to the seasons. Your vehicle will be in different conditions in the winter than in the summer, meaning it requires a different type of preparation.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures the vehicle will be exposed to, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check your tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
There is a common worry among many people that auto repair professionals take advantage of the general public. Because so many people are unaware of how to fix the problems in their vehicle, they are nervous of being overcharged by mechanics or worried that the improper work is being done.
While the great majority of professionals in the industry are honest, hard-working people, a few bad apples can ruin everything. You should be extra careful when first visiting a mechanic to guarantee that the price you're charged and maintenance the vehicle receives are fair.
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you are in the shop and your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill.
The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done. That way, you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
By working closely with an auto repair professional and doing some of the tune-up work on your own, you will be less likely to fall for these scams. At the same time, you'll be able to drive out with a clean and healthy vehicle, thanks to the repairs made by a trained professional.
