I have yet to order something I didn't enjoy. The lasagne is always good, thier pizza is even better. I frequently order to go from here and have yet to have a bad expiernce.
The only complaint I would have to say and it's not to much of a big deal for me is the dining area is very crowded.
But hey that just shows how good the food is.
Domenico's has been around for longer than I've been alive, as evidenced by the dark and dated decor. I'd like to say that it's "quaint" or "authentic," even old school, but it's none of those things.
My son and I ended up here on a Friday night after puzzling over what to get for dinner following some errand running and other chores. We usually get pizza from here - which is delicious, by the way - but we usually pick it up and take it home. However on this night, we were both so hungry we decided to eat at the source.
Not a good idea.
First there was the surly busboy who waved us over to a table without so much as a smile or even a confirmation that we were sitting where he'd indicated. Then we waited for about 5-10 minutes for him to come by again so we could ask for water.
Thankfully our server was pleasant. He answered some questions about items on the menu, made some suggestions and took our order promptly.
The food was generally good, but really hard to enjoy in the dingy environment. I know this place is kind of an institution of sorts, but really - a little bit of improvement could go a long, long way to improving the atmosphere and overall cleanliness of the place.
I'll continue to call and order food for takeout (they don't deliver), but I can say with absolute certainty that I will not eat in the restaurant again.

This is exactly what you hope for from a local neighborhood Italian restaurant. The atmosphere is perfect and the food is delicious, especially the Sausage and Basil pizza (not listed on the menu).
It's a great place to bring kids of any age and they cater to them with food selection and even activities to keep the young ones occupied while they wait for delicious pizza or pasta.
The service is notoriously slow, so don't come if you're in a hurry, but it's worth the wait to be with your family.
Delivery would be a nice option, but for pickup, it's great that they have a separate entrance for it.

I grew up in Pasadena and remember the first Domenicos. They've been business for 50 years and have always been the best. Recently I was back visiting and brought my friends who were in town for the Rose Bowl game. We had the Antipasto Salad, Fettucini Alfredo with shrimp and mushrooms, and the Sausage, peppers and potatoes. It was all FANTASTIC and we all had leftovers to enjoy the next day. I can always count on the best food from Domenicos. This is family owned and the tradition of excellence continues .

We walked into the restaurant and gave our name to the host. He offered us a table in the back which my boyfriend declined because he wanted a booth. He told us it would be about 5 minutes for a booth, although an open booth was available. About 10 minutes later, he offered us the open booth from before. We were immediately greeted by a bus boy who took our drink order. Eventually a waitress showed up to take our food order. She was prompt with our salad, but disappeared for about a half hour until she brought the bread. At which time she said our meals would be coming out momentarily. Our pasta dishes (fettucini alfredo with vegetables and sausage, peppers, and potatoes with ravioli) were piping hot when they arrived a few minutes later. Then the waitress disappeared for another half hour until she finally asked if I wanted a box and then promptly brought our check. Although the food was good, the service was atrocious. I doubt we'll be back for dine-in, but we might try take-out pizza.

I love the pizza, pasta and salads at this place. It's an excellent spot to take kids, and I took my siblings there so I could combine my two favorite past times - eating and studying. They loved the pepperoni pizza and I went with a staple salad and pasta. Needless to say, we'll be back again very soon.

I overheard some other mom's picking up their children at the same school mine go to say ""I saw you at Domenico's"". I made a mental note to check it out with the little one and my hubby. We were so happy we did! Fantastic pizza, a sweet, cozy little neighborhood restaurant and kid friendly. We'll be back....again, and again!!
