If you ski, this is the spot for you to have a fantastic experience without worrying about the masses. Rarely a lift line and many days you have runs to yourself!
Huge mountain, a lot of different chairlifts to choose from, two excellent parks with Neff lands design, good all around terrain for anywhere from beginning to expert, very knowledgeable and helpful staff.
The BEST ski resort in the United States If you're a skier - then Deer Valley is the place to go. Sorry snowboarders, you're not allowed on this beautiful mountain. Deer valley limits the number of passes sold daily, so the mountain is never over crowded to the point it's dangerous. When you want to take a break, enjoy a beer and the turkey chili (amazing)
Worst stay ever! It was our 20 year anniversary, and we wanted something special. We were promised that with this resort. If what we got was their best, I'd hate to see their worst. For starters the rooms are cramped, and claustrophobic. Our "special" view was of the road, and entry to parking garage. So cars and people were constantly going past our window. The walls are paper thin. We could hear the room next to us setting their table, and could understand them as if they were in the same room with us. 2 minutes after entering our room, we knew it wasn't going to work. We called the front desk, were told they'd get right back to us. 1 1/2 hrs later we called, only to get we'll call you RIGHT back, "I promise!". It was still 30 minutes. 4 hours of phone calls later, they moved us to a room right next to the karaoke bar. Idiots. Move us AGAIN. The rooms are literally the worst I've ever stayed in. The LARGE jetted tub would fit 2 if you were both 4 ft tall, and 75 lbs. The tv had constant snowy bad reception, one of the bathroom door locks was broken, we had to constantly go to the front dest and have them redo our keys because they would constantly not work. I really could go on and on. I wish I didn't have to give 1 star to rate, because 1 star is way to high.
We visit the Canyons once a year and usually eat dinner at the Westgate. Its a highr end menu and ambiance yet it's still kid friendly. Food is very good - enjoyed the salmon pesto! Service is good and reasonably fast. We'll keep coming back!
