This is the closest motel near Stanford University on El Camino Real. I stayed one night as had interview on campus next morning. Walking or easy biking distance to campus. Motel parking available, restaurants and bakery 50 ft from motel. Area quiet, service was great, room very clean, small kitchen with refrigerator, flat screen television, pool. Would definitely recommend for short term stay, longer stay you may want added amenities such as larger pool, exercise room, on site dining, etc.

Hotel California is a nice, smaller hotel very close to Stanford University. The staff at the hotel were very nice and made my extended stay very comfortable. I especially loved sitting on the terrace and enjoyed the beautiful flowers and sunshine. I will definitely recommend Hotel California to anyone who is looking for a good value and great location when visiting Palo Alto.
It's the creation of Ray Handley, a Silicon Valley entrepreneur and world traveler. Each room is different. Artwork is found throughout. I felt spoiled and a bit giddy here, between exceptional tapas and live music poolside to fine detail, luxurious bedding and a seven foot giraffe in the African Room where I overnighted.
there is one gal there(i am not sure of her race, but she is dark skin, medium height, short hair and overweight) who is really UNFRIENDLY. i don't want to go back to this place any longer:(
Great location, very competitive prices in an area where hotel room rates are sky high. Great place for the budget traveler.
