        Great Hotel...Wierd Location

        Let me start by saying this: I LOVE this hotel. Their attention to detail is second to none. You have to love a place that offers free shoe shine, choice of five daily newspapers and linens and bedding that rivals those found in ANY home.



        The are two knocks on the hotel: 1) The location. The hotel sits atop of the University Ave. exit off the 101. At a recent stay at the hotel, my room view was filled with the jammed-packed 101 as well as the massive IKEA building. 2) The hotel is massive. This hotel is not the quaint traditional format of other Four Season. This one is an all-glass building that seems it can accommodate more than 2,000 guests.

        Open from November 16th through February 28th, the Quattro terrace is transformed into an intimate winter wonderland. Après, emulates a cozy mountainside retreat, celebrating the après-ski lifestyle complete with rustic wooden cabins accented by sleek fire tables and lighted alpine trees. The comfortable outdoor lounge is enhanced by a nightly snowfall, fireside movies on Friday and Saturday evenings at 6:00PM and decadent winter treats. Après is open daily from 4:00pm to 11:00pm. Reservations are suggested, but not required.
