smooth car buying experience

My husband and I bought 3 cars from Hammer Auto.
First car was 7 years ago. Before I talked to Hammer, I talked to dealers and thought I could negotiate a good price myself. Well, Hammer found me a deal $ 2,000 cheaper...
For my second car, I wanted a red Prius with interior leather. No dealer could offer that package, but Hammer could, and I still got a good price.
For my third car, I went straight to Hammer.
Purchase of any of the 3 cars took about 5mn to describe what we wanted, and 10mn to sign the papers/write the check few days later; Not having to agonize in a dealer's office for 2 hours is priceless....
Guess where I will buy my next car?

AWFUL!!!! Don't waste your time or money on Hammer Auto!

Hammer Auto is not to be trusted. They have shady business practices. Their contract uses deceptive language, they DO NOT GET THE CHEAPEST DEALS, they do bait and switch, and routinely reneg on their promises, and to top it all off, Rober Hammer is arrogant and rude. I would say working with him was one of the worst transactions of my life. Believe me, with a little research, you will do better going through a car dealership directly - we did.

Best price AND good service!

Not quite sure about the review ripping on Hammer. They were recommended to me by another national real estate relocation agent for the bay area. I have recently bought 2 vehicles through them & everything went smoothly from start to finish. Also, I checked around on the pricing & nobody was even close to their prices on the 2 vehicles. They made buying a car easy & enjoyable - as opposed to dealers where the price kept changing or the salesman had to go ""get it approved by his manager in the other room"".
They got exactly the vehicles I ordered & I knew from the very start what I was paying - with no hidden costs anywhere. BTW - the people there were as nice as could be [I think the other reviewer must have walked into a regular dealership by mistake]..

Avoid This Place Like A Bad Rash

This place has quite a little scheme going and has been doing it for quite awhile. They tell you they are making $500 service fee when in reality it's over $1000. The owner also is rude and arrogant and full of himself. As a realtor I know firsthand about selling a product and customer service and when I went in to pick up my car I was apalled at how me and my daughter were treated. They act like you are lucky you are getting a car from them. They promised to show we what they paid and then made excuses for not showing it to me. I will get my car elsewhere in the future. They have a bunch of bad reviews on all kinfs of sites like Yelp and Yahoo....

best deal/lease/best way for any NEW vehicle

Funny that the bad review of the business I started 14 years ago has the facts 100% wrong!!I have never ,in 14 years taken/collected/asked for,or accepted any fees up front!!You don't pay me until you take delivery of your vehicle,or if you cancel the use of my services.Let's be honest here!!If you buy or lease a vehicle from me&I save you $1000's off what anyone else quoted you,but then after you've taken delivery a dealer calls you up&asks for your business&you tell him that you already got your vehicle through Hammer,what's he going to say??Congratulations ????NO>he's going to tell you that he could have(after the fact,got you a better deal)Sure.My reputation spans the whole U.S.&I'm proud to be the Premier Autobroker in the U.S.!!

AVOID HAMMER AUTO - Used Car Salesman tactics...

If you're looking for a new car, HAMMER AUTO is definitely NOT the company to go with. If you spend any time at all researching a car, guaranteed that YOU can negotiate as good of a deal, if not better, yourself! He charges $400-600 with NOOOOO guarantee that he will save you $. You have to sign the contract and just ""take his word for it."" That's BS, no guarantee, no business. After I got my car, I realized that I could have gotten a better deal WITHOUT paying the $500...once he has your money, it's over. If you do some, or any, homework, trust me, you can get as good or a better deal at a dealership. If you're lazy and want to hand over a handful of hundreds with no guarantee, go for it. We all work hard for our money, not worth it. Also, after trying just about everything to get that lame license plate border off my car, I finallly took it to my shop to get the bolts off, such a PR scam. Just wait until you hear his cheesy lines - ""let me work my magic on you,"" hahahaha...NEVER AGAIN... I throw caution to you!
