I recently returned a cooking thermometer that I purchased just before Thanksgiving for the sale price of $9.99 such a bargain or so I thought. The first time I used it was for Christmas roasting a 17 lb Turkey at 350 degrees well it seemed to be working well at the begining I was checking the temp every 30 minutes approximately.well an hour into the roasting the temp was 100 degrees which I thought was kinda high that soon so I returned in 15 minutes and it was reading HHH for which the booklet that came with it had no definition for codes So I tried to get it to work by disconnecting and reconnecting the thermometer,it didn’t work I turned it on and off same result so I tried contacting the company the next day through both the internet and by phone and the internet wasn’t connecting and the phone number was just taking messages which my calls were never returned. So I returned to Aldis with everything but the receipt.I went inside and was told that I could get my refund at any checkout ,I thought great I’ll get my stuff that I needed and get my refund when I check out.Well at the checkout The cashier whose name was James tells me that I can only get back 5.56 what the machine scanned so I asked but I bought it for 9.99 which was the sale price which is all I wanted, so how could the regular price be lower then the sale price he answered with I can only give you the scanned price without a receipt now I didn’t understand cause the the package had aldi info on the back of it so it wasn’t from another store and I wasn’t trying to rip them off so I took the 5.56 and to top it off the cashier told me that he needed the cart back when I finished with it ,this a cart that I put a quarter deposit for so I told him and he got a little nasty about it and said " it’s ok you can have it “ as if I was trying to rip him off for the cart so I guess I hand carried a gallon milk and a half-gallon of milk and grapes and other products.so in essence that tells me that they almost doubled the price of the thermometer and put it on sale , then they reduced the price on the return of the of the product which means they made almost 7.00 dollars on garbage that didn’t work.SO SAVE YOUR RECIEPTS OR YOU WILL LOSE This occurred on Dec 29th
Average market. Clean. They never seem to have enough cashiers at peak times. 2 or 3 express check outs with usually only one regular cashier open and 5+ in line.
Owner is a jerk and doesn't deserve to have customers! My family member went to buy something from this store and was using a few dollars in change. The cashier was going to take it but then the owner told her not to because it's too much change. Get this, he wanted the customer to go turn in the change and come back! How rude, customers don't jump through hurdles for you, it's the other way around. No wonder small businesses go out of business! People are mistreated and then go choose the big stores over them.
I like shopping at Trader Joe's. too many times I go in there and they don't have the item I'm looking for (just not at the moment). So that's a bother. But I always enjoy what they have serving up at the back and make sure to get it and make it for the crew at home.I love the store, so fresh aNod clean and the staff is so nice!
Von's is pretty much a good shopping experience.Love the in store butcher area, bakery and deli. They even offer discounts on sandwiches. The self serve has too many bugs in it to be helpful and the new system of online coupons doesn't work too well. These are the downsides.
