Village Park of Palatine

This is by far the absolute worst apartment complex I've ever lived in. Due to a job change I moved to Illinois and this complex was close to my new job. The apartment they showed me prior to moving in was TOTALLY different from the hell hole they moved me in. Not to mention my apartment flooded in the first month and then I had to do my own mold testing to prove to them that black mold was alive and growing all around me. Finally they moved me (but only into an apartment that was much more expensive than the one I had)--- because they had no 2 bedroom vacancies. RIGHT! Anyway, 9 months later I got out of there (yes had to pay the termination lease fee)... but it was worth it to get out of this horrific place. You will be seriously disappointed if you choose this place to be your home.

I lived in this community for 6 years and every year got worse. For each lease renewal we had to "negotiate" basic repairs and concerns be completed. Each year those concerns were not met. They should be subject to the same monetary penalties for not complying with their own promises of upkeep that they charge tenants. The roof was replaced but the workers used OUR personal apartment's power outlet - we had to negotiate reimbursement! In the 6 years, the carpet was never cleaned, paint never touched up, or any regular maintenance done but they did offer us a curved shower rod. Walkways were barely passable due to overgrown landscaping. Outdoor lighting worked less than 50% of the time. Workers entered our apartment several times when we were not home and specifically asked that they not. Once we actually were home - I was in the shower! They just came on in! Do not rent here and if you do, get everything in writing and leave nothing to chance.
