        School on Top of the Hill

        Glassmanor Elementary is located in Oxon Hill, Md near Eastover Shopping Center. All the children are walkers. it is a family oriented school. The children and parents are treated with great respect and feel welcomed at all time. We include them in all of our activities and decision making. The students work very hard to achieve and we have amde our AYP for the last four consecutive years and will do so this year. We feel as though Glassmanor is the forgotten school.



        Some of our yearly activities are: International Day (May) , Career Day (April) , 100th Day of School (Jan.) . Black History Program (Feb.), Winter Program (Dec.) Thankgiving Lunch (Stuedent and parents dress up and have lunch together in the cafeteria. The tables are decorated.) Mother's Day Lunceon (May) Father's DAy Breakfast (June) and Promotional Exercise for our Sixth Graders(June)



        We do several things to promote Perfect Attendance and to keep the children motivated.



        Ms. Diane Jones, principal , is a very loving, caring and devoted person. She cares and nutures the students and parents. She knows all the students names, their grades and teachers names. She knows the parents and conversates with them when they visit the school.



        I could go on and on about Glassmanor, but you MUST visit to see the things I have mentioned.
