This review has been long overdue as the floor was installed in late August of 2013. The reason for the delay of the review is because within two months after the installation, I left for the winter months. It did not give me sufficient time to practically feel and see how the floor reacts to the whole setting within the house. Upon my return to the residence I should be able to write a more substantial review on it. However, I can make some comments on the working team based on my observation and experience.
The team of three people, including the leader, is a very efficient and hardworking group. They shared the work well and each one knew which part he was taking responsibility as soon as they arrived at the job site, i.e. my house. This reflects the well planning of the leader of the team, and the cooperation of the team members. They only took short breaks during working in those very hot 4 days, and did not waste anytime chatting away the job time. They worked very hard, and I considered they did a very good job other than what I said before that I don't think I had enough time to evaluate how the hardwood floor reacts to the whole setting. If upon my return I found some wood planks show evidence of imbalance or something else, then something needs to be done again. The workmanship is guaranteed for one year so they will return to fix the problem.
One comment I want all professionals to know is that even customers are not trained in the field such as laying hardwood flooring, they do know what looks good and what does not. I won't like to see a wood plank with flaw/flaws like chips or broken knots be installed on the floor even those flaws can be covered up when the floor is sanded and coated. Professionals should recognize and respect the knowledge of the customers. After all, the floor is going to be installed to the house of the customers who would not know how to replace the flawed plank should the flaws show up in a year or two when the warranty expired. Customers want things installed last long, if not forever. I had some bad experiences with bad "professionals" who thought only they knew what they were doing.
