I don't know if they do good tattoos here or not, because I couldn't get past the rude girl who answers the phone and makes the appointments. They won't contact you via email. They don't make appointments over the phone. If you go in, they will make you an appointment for a later date, but don't change the appointment, because you have to go back in to make another appointment because they don't make appointments over the phone unless you leave a deposit. Now, don't expect the girl to tell you these things up front, because she won't.

I feel excited to share how professional and helpful these guys are! Lance is very meticulous and love to pick his brain about his vast knowledge of mythology and history. It makes a tat.. a lifelong work of art.. Looking forward to my next adventure!!

I got my first tat here 7 years ago, a cover up done by Brandon. It still looks brand new and I've been told it looks like an oil painting on my body. I'm back after long last and Brandon is working on a half-sleeve on my right arm, and soon to come a full sleeve for my left and a side tat. He designs all of my work and always exceeds my expectations. Don't judge by the fact that he's in Overland Park, he's a true diamond in the rough, one of the best artists I've ever seen and I would recommend anyone to him.

My father and I love this place. He has gotten multiple tattoos there and I have gotten 3 piercings. They were knowledgeable, reassuring, and professional. When I got my eyebrow pierced they were extremely nice understanding of my fears and wants and when I was getting it done they made sure I was ok. Which I wasnt, I passed out and they were nice enough to keep me comfortable. Definately recomended.

I had my first tattoo done here. I was very skeptical at first and when I got done I was so impressed and happy! I sketched what I wanted done and they just polished it up. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I also got my belly button pierced which didn't hurt and it was done perfectly. They are perfectionist and if it's a lasting thing (like a tattoo is) you want them to be :)
I have had both a belly piercing and ink work done there. The staff are professional and helpful and are genuinely interested in making sure that you are happy with the final product. (I had my original work resized a few times before it looked the way I wanted it to look and Brent was very patient!) Brent did my ink and his work is amazing! I am going back for another tattoo soon. :)

All I wanted was a name for my friend that passed, this guy was trying to talk me into some wicked freehand sensation that he had in his head. Then he treated me like a peasant because I JUST wanted a name. Maybe I just got the wrong guy or caught him on a bad day but I felt rushed, unimportant.

I have gotten two tattoos at Skin Illustrations on 87th. I was impressed with how clean the workstations are, and how friendly and ""down to earth"" the artists are. Both of my tattoos are custom and the artist that did them nailed exactly what I was looking for. I would definitly recommend going to this parlor to get your ink done. I will not go anywhere else, besides them.

I've heard good things about this tattoo place, but unfortunately when I went in, the guy that did my tattoo was in a hurry and I got the sense that he didn't want to be there. He rushed through my tattoo and made really rude comments to me while he working on me. I can understand if you're having a bad day, but the one place you shouldn't work while you're having a bad day, is a tattoo parlor. I felt really uncomfortable and felt as if I was being an inconvenience to him by being there. when he got done with the outline, he didn't switch over to a different needle to fill in the rest, he just used the outline needle to finish, which really sucked!! Now the area that was tattooed is bruised and severely sore. I've had tattoos before and I know for sure that they shouldn't hurt this bad. I know if I do go back (which I'll probably stick with Iruzumis), I definitely won't use the guy that did mine...Won't say any names, but I'm sure if you go in there and come across him, you'll know who he is.

It's easy to be intimidated in a tattoo shop, but not here. It's comfortable and easy to talk to the artists. I went to at least 5 other shops in town before finding this shop and I was impressed with how clean and professional it is. There's lots of talent in this shop and if your not sure exactly what you want, let them know what your theme is and they will produce some killer ideas.

Skin Illustrations is an awesome place to go if you want a tattoo. It's clean and the artists are friendly and highly talented. There's a lot of flash on the walls but you can also get some amazing custom work done. I would highly recommend this place! I've gotten two tattoos from there and love both of them!
