Huge thank you to Kurt Miller at Abbey Appliance! Came home from work last night to find my house at a balmy 90 degrees. Called Kurt last night after hours to tell him what was going on. He answered the phone and walked me through some diagnostic stuff to try figure out the issue. Then he showed up at 8:15 a.m. this morning with the correct part already on the truck and had my A/C up and running in no time. He's also been my go-to guy to fix our refrigerator and our washing machine. If you're looking for an HVAC or appliance guy, definitely give him a call.
Our washer gave out and we called Abbey Appliance and could not be more happy with that decision. Kurt came out the same day and fix it for a reasonable price that include a warranty! He was in a well marked van and wan in uniform. I also worry about those service people that show up in there car!! This company charges fair prices from when I shopped around and was fast service. Would definitely use them again and would also recommend them!
Called this company for a washing machine repair.
Their service call advertised as $49.00
Owner Kurt come and diagnose the problem, told he had the part for pump in his truck for $20.
Did the repair and gave a bill of $207.04 for a repair.
Pump is $25.00 at Sears store (charge $171.00) 3" hose is $6.00 (he used a used hose from his truck, not even an original hose and charged $20, almost 350% more compared to original new hose).
TOTAL service time in and out 30 Minutes.
Charge $207.04 DOES NOT equal 30 minutes + $25 pump + $6 hose.
OVERCHARGED, EXCESSIVE CHARGE. Not a professional service.
Ripping off customers does not help your business. Just because people trust you when you walk in does not mean they will not tell the others when they are cheated.
Will not use again. WILL NOT recommend.
Our refrigerator of 11 years decided it would go on strike recently ... during one of the hottest weeks of the summer. Not good. My wife and I did our due diligence online, as we rarely have major appliance issues. We decided to contact Abbey and could not be more impressed with the prompt, courteous and spot on service. Kurt is one of the owners and he came right on time. Like a physician, he diagnosed our problem and presented a range of treatment options. Kurt recommended that we try the least expensive alternative before into more expensive treatments or getting a new refrigerator. Well, within hours our old refrigerator was back on the job and off the picket line. That was a month ago and it is still running like new. Thank you, Kurt! I recommend Abbey without reservation.
I was exceeding glad that they were quick on the response from the phone call to the call from the technician to the fixing of the heater. I believe everything took about 2 hours from the phone call to the technician leaving after fixing the heater.
Another great thing was that Abbey had a $10 off coupon off from their website.
The technician was dressed professional and was able to pin point the problem at a timely manner.
I'm very happy with the repair service provided by Kurt from Abbey Heating & Cooling. My older Maytag needed repair, so I called Abbey and they offered to come out the same day. I scheduled my appointment and the seal on my dryer was replaced and it was running within an hour. I'm very happy with the service and wouldn't hesitate to call Abbey again!
I never write one of these reviews but have referred to them to determine which company I should use if I don't know who is reliable. My experience with Abbey Appliance motivated me to take the time to write about the positive experience I had. It is so nice to deal with people who seemed motivated and informed from the first call I placed to ultimately the repair being completed. The office staff scheduled the service call at a convenient time for me and the repairman showed up as scheduled to fix my Whirpool washer which wasn't draining. The tech, Kurt, had the part on the truck, was knowledgeable, courteous and explained what the charges were prior to his repairing the washer. I am recommending Abbey to all my friends.
This company has brought back customer service like no other. Talk about honesty and service. I had a well known heating company out, they quoted me $400 + labor to replace a board, and they had to order it and it would be at least a week(meanwhile I had no heat at the main part of the house). Good thing I have two. But anyway talking to a friend and she tells me to call Kurt at Abbey Heating & Cooling. He came out(the same day) and within an hour had it fixed. It was a switch of some sort. With labor and the part its was $145 + tax. I would recommend him to anybody and everybody.
