I visited this IHop on Dec. 7, 2012, with a group of 53 persons. Several phone calls were made in advance to let the restaurant know that we would be there and when we would arrive. A phone call was made on the day before we arrived and everything was in order supposedly. When we arrived on the 7th, no one knew that we were coming not even the Manager. After I told them that we were told that we could and would be accommodated when we arrived, they seated us. When we were finally served, orders were incorrect, food was cold and we were there for three (3) hours. Some were given a 20% discount; however, most people had already paid for the food that was not eatable. In doing a follow up, we were promised a letter of apology from management; however, this has not happened as of yet and it has been 7 days since we were there. I believe this restaurant deserves to be closed because it is not conducive to serving the public adequately. No one should wait 3 hours for food that comes out cold. No star rating here. Rick the Manager does not take his job seriously. This is the IHop at 9099 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS.
We only tend to go here when we have coupons for buy one get one free or better. The food is good but overpriced. I do like that they serve their iced tea (which is really tasty) from a carafe at you table so you don't have to wait too long for refills. The belgian waffles are great and they offer nice breakfast options. Their kids' menu items are a bit pricey but overall pretty decent place. They get busy very early on the weekends so sometimes they are not a great option if you are in a hurry.
