I'm a first time home owner with a relatively young family. In an attempt to be thrifty, ok fine, cheap, I thought I would use Google and YouTube to give me the skills necessary to fix it. In the mean time I would use the fire place and buy a few little electric heaters for the rooms. My wife found these heaters for ten bucks at big lots, sweet, buy an extra for the shop I said. My plan was in full effect and my pride with it. Then one day I get my electric bill, and it was just shy of a thousand bucks. All of the sudden, those little heaters from big lots cost me so much more. So I promptly threw each one in the trash and called in the professionals.
They came in and identified the problem and explained it to me in a way I could understand. The part took two days to arrive, but when it did they came right away to install it. The technician who came out had worked for the company for over 20 years and was even familiar with my unit because he serviced it over a decade ago for the previous owners. Good people with deep roots in the community.
