I brought my 1970 bronco to this business to have the brakes done in November of 2015. He agreed to perform the service and also informed me that he "found" other things needing fixed or it would leave on a tow truck due to safety. I agreed and paid him in full the same day. As time went on he would give me updates, some good others bad. Such as he said the rear axle needed to be rebuilt due to loose metal shavings in the pumpkin. So I paid him another large some to have it rebuilt as well. Then he told me the gearing in the front axle did not match the rear axle. He told me he drained the transfer case and put fresh oil in.
I was back in state January to check on it(I since moved out of state) and found the bronco without the rear axle, sitting in the back of the shop with the back of the bronco resting on the ground. More time past with more updates such as it had a new distributor and new steering system along with new shocks. Finally in mid summer of 2016 my wife went to check on it and claimed that the owner was being rude to her and that he wasn't really giving her any time of day. So we called a tow and had it picked up. The we found the windshield broken with damage to its frame. After we had the vehicle inspected at another shop, and found out a lot of work he claimed to have done was not performed. Gears did match, oil was dirty in Tcase no new parts he claimed he put on were present.
In short, he wasted 9 months of my time, held $6k for the same duration (so money wasn't an excuse( we have since settled on a refund amount)). My bronco received damage in the form of a broken windshield and damaged frame which he denied was broken at his shop until I told him I could show pictures of it in his shop with the windshield and frame without damage and pictures as the tow truck was pulling up with damage.. He had told me countless lies over the phone and to my face.
Save yourself the pain and headache of dealing with someone like this. Best of luck to you all.
