I called this company in Oct 2009 for a leak repair coming from a tub. They responded quickly at first and then once they got their money, you can forget about it. They came for the repair, "fixed" it, and then had me pay. But no sooner did he leave did it start leaking again. I called them right up and they came by maybe 8 times through Oct and Nov. Still they didn't fix it. Each time it was "well that should do it" or I don't have the part/tool here." Finally in about Dec it was, I just can't do it. Sure, you got paid, so why bother.
I called the supervisor/owner and requested his inspection (surely he must be able to fix it faster than over 2 months). After one or more NO SHOWS, and a couple that even I couldn't be there for him (however, I CALLED and cancelled) I was getting fed up (yeah it took me that long). I called and spoke with this supervisor and we arranged a concrete inspection date and time, during which he blamed me for his no shows and my cancellations for this long repair, whatever.
So he and the original repair guy show up in early Jan to do an inspection and a couple tests, cool now I am finally getting service right, WRONG. They come to a stopping point when they really can't find the leak and aren't sure of what type of shower parts I have. So I get a promise that I will get called back with they right parts and a better idea of how to proceed. I waited a full week and called in to find out where my call was. I get told that they are out, but they will call me back. Another couple of weeks, its now Jan 25th. I call now, and I want out! I tell him that it is ridicules how much time has passed on a little leak, and that I don't want to wait anymore, I want out. I then begin to ask for a refund, at least for repair time. I pretty much get told its my fault since I cancelled in Dec (sorry I can't be home on the 11th/12th time you have to come) and that originally they had fixed the leak (what I payed for) and that this was another leak. Yeah right! like I am conspiring to keep them coming back to my home to muddy up my floors and leave grease stains on whatever they touch (yeah, they didn't clean up after themselves).
So far I have contacted the BBB filing a complaint, hoping for a refund with their intervention. Also, I am posting here, and any other place that will listen, to make sure this company knows that lacking in customer service and professionalism will only send your potential customers running. Besides being blamed for canceling and sabotaging their initial job, they have been pretty nice guys. Its a shame their service can't reflect.
If you need a repair job done on your plumbing, you are better off going elsewhere, doing it yourself, or just letting it leak ('cause that is all Daugherty's will do for you). I have lost money on this deal, but you don't have to. Consider yourself warned.
