Personally, I was VERY surprised by Best Western Movie land. When we arrived, the lobby was looking pretty empty as we arrived around dinner when everyone else was out. It is for this reason, most likely, that the lady that everyone complains about selling Universal tickets did not hassle us. Anyways, the reception was VERY kind in not only aiding us through the check-in process, but also to help us find our room, the pool, and other amenities. I like it so much. Thanks.

Personally, I was VERY surprised by Best Western Movieland. She also walked out from behind the desk to show us outside which way to drive to get to Disney World, etc. Very helpful front desk service. Once we got the keys, we used the elevator (which was for some reason, not very crowded though the hotel can accommodate quite many people) to get to our room. Our room was right by the elevator. Convenient, yet surprisingly sound-proof from the bustling outside the room. The bathrooms aren't 'I would eat something off of the floor' clean, but they are much cleaner than places that I've stayed in. Often, there would be a cart outside the room that the maids would leave out for guests to get toothbrushes, shampoo, extra pillows/towels, etc. Very helpful! As for the room, large TV, contemporary furniture, and even a PERSONAL computer with internet that was remarkably fast. I was able to check up on my email and even renew a book that I had forgot to the return prior to my vacation. Looked up the map to get to the parks around the area (though they're so close it really wasn't necessary), and checked the weather for the week. Very helpful service and unique to this location.
Beds were very clean. Very comfortable, too. Pool was also VERY clean. Probably newly renovated. Nothing 'gunky' or 'icky' you usually find with hotel pools. This one was SUPER SUPER SUPER clean. I would recommend it to ANYONE. No hot tub though, but it's really not necessary. After a long day out walking at the parks and whatnot, I'd actually recommends coming to the pool instead of heading straight to bed. I found myself more relaxed wading around the pool. It's just that amazing! For those who want to shed a few pounds, there's an exercise room hat's equally as enchanting. Gift shop in the hotel as well. DIdn't check it out, but you could always purchase some stuff, though I don't see why as there are at least 5 gift shops within a 3 minute walk from the hotel. Location of the hotel could not be any better. I won't elaborate on this, as you can see for yourself on the hotel map. IMPORTANT NOTE: The only downside of the hotel is that it has NO complimentary breakfast. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel (some steakhouse type thing) which I did not go. There was a discount offered to hotel guests, but I never had the appetite or the time to eat in the morning before I went to the parks nearby. Smelled good though. I heard other hotel guests complaining that tips were already included the bill. Just a warning, but I can't confirm it for you. If you're looking for a quick breakfast bite to eat, there a ponderosa across the street. Also, I found 3 places that served good food for those on a budget. Right next to the steakhouse (as you walk towards the entrance to the Wet n' Wild) there a Hong Kong BBQ. Their lo mien and fried rice is packed with goodies like shrimp, bbq pork, and whatnot. Definately worth a try. Tasted awesome. If you work your way farther down the street by about 2 minutes, you'll see a larger chinese restaurant near the 'anti-gravity sky-diving tower'. Also pretty good. Tip is included in the bill as well. Everything on the menu was enticing. I'd defiantely go there again.

I booked this hotel via Thomson site for a 10 night stay.
I read most reviews so got a good idea of the hotel.
Arrived on a sat afternoon and was checked in within 2 minutes by Fabio he was very helpful and willing to help. He gave us a bigger room (disabled room all the same just bigger bathroom).
Upon entering the room there is a damp smell though you get ust to this within 10 or so seconds of being in the room and you dont notice until you leave the room and go back to it later and its the same again for about 10 seconds.
The rooms where a good size, had working ""free"" aircon, little noisy but nothing that bad. Keeps the room nice temp :).
The computer is good and the free internet is a brilliant touch to the room.
Cleanliness of the hotel was Very good as was our room service (though one day we didnt get new towels so used our clean towels we brought with us.
We used towels supplied at the pool and these were a bit small but all clean and saves you taking your own.
The pool was open until 10pm, we went in it a few days after coming back from the parks. it was heated from about 5pm onwards which we realised.
The hotel is situated opposite wet n wild and is next to Iride stop 9
Ponderosa is at stop 10 which is about a 20-30 second walk. Sizzlers is more or less opposite.
The hotel supplied free shuttle to Universal, seaworld.
Regarding walt disney we found a shuttle called Legacy after a few days which picked us up and dropped us off to the hotel for about 4-8$ and its quicker and direct. Link [--]
We also booked our transfer back to sanford with Legacy's coach drivers son for $75 and was really friendly and kind.

Fantastic Hotel,Great Location We have just returned from great 2 week stay at the Movieland hotel. This hotel is situated in an excellent location on I Drive across road from Wet and Wild,I ride stop 9 at front door and 5mins walk away from Universal Orlando and next door to the Black Angus Steakhouse and is also 300 yards from a 24hr Walgreens.
The rooms are typical american style large clean and comfortable plus all rooms have a PC and free internet access and cable tv.Housekeeping is to a very high standard there is a large pool with free towels and the hotel has ample car parking.
Felt very safe at this hotel all rooms are internal so you are not walking straight from carpark into your room and hotel also benefits form monitored CCTV and security guards at night. The hotel also appears to be in the process of being refitted with new carpets in hallways and rooms and new paintwork.
Ideal location for non drivers for easy access to Parks and shopping ,by foot, I ride bus, free shuttle to Universal and Seaworld and there is also a flexible shuttle service to Disney for $14 per person with various drop off pick up times.
Black Angus Steakhuse which adjoins the property offers steaks to die for and also has great bar to relax at after a long day at the parks.
Would definately recommend this hotel it is not the Ritz but offers excellent value is clean ,welcoming and most importantly safe

I stayed at the Best Western Movieland first two weeks in September with my wife and 3 young sons, I could not say a bad word about this hotel.
Excellent value for money, fantastic location for Universal Studios, Wet n Wild and not far from Seaworld, there is a free shuttle bus which takes you to all the attractions, Even Disneyworld is easy to get to. The I trolley is directly outside the hotel and is a very cheap way to get up and down international drive.
The staff at this hotel were excellent friendly, & helpful, Lisa & Yola on the attractions desk also helped to make our stay, they were always extremley helpful.
For eating take your pick, Ponderosa, Sizzlers, Wendys, KFC, Dennys, all a stones throw away as are numerous bars & gift shops
Back to the hotel the rooms were big and clean, towels were changed each day and the beds made, the pool at the hotel is a nice size and does not get too busy the hotel also provides its guests with free clean towels.
There was a little bit of work ongoing at the time we stayed which the staff apolgised for but to be honest did not effect our stay.
I would definatley stay at this hotel again, and would recommend.

Me and my partner returned from 2 weeks at the best western great hotel, very friendly and helpful staff on reception, fabulous location as there is a free shuttle to sea world, univesal, hotel is right opposite wet&wild water park which is a fatastic way to top up your tans. We were lucky enough to visit discovery cove which is absolutly breathtaking swimming with stingrays and tropical fish but the best part of the day is swimming with the dolphins it truly is a once in a lifetime experience (which i have my mum&dad to thank for that) Places i would reccomend to eat are start the day at the black angus for buffet breakfast have the day exploring the many parks then onto ponderosa,mr wongs chinese and highly recommended is bennigans across the road lovely food and friendly staff (try their special guinness glazed chicken it is to die for). I would definately recommend this hotel to friends and family and i would definately stay here again.

My parents and I stayed at the hotel for some days in August last year - and we enjoyed it so much!!
The hotel is cheap, excellent situated, has some really nice and clean rooms and friendly staff!
We loved it, and if we're ever coming back to Orlando, we'll definitely be staying here again!

Best Hotel on the strip My family and I stayed at this hotel for the second time in 2 years last may. I love the location and the price. The staff was always friendly and I never felt unsafe. My 7 year old and I would often walk the strip after dark and enjoy the sights. I also loved having so many restaurants to choose from. I have stayed at the contemporary, the Dixie landings and another best western on hotel plaza blvd. This one is the better of any due to the price and location. You could walk to universal if you don't mind the distance after being at the park all day. We will definitely stay here again.

I must admit that I was sceptical about this property from the number of bad reviews,I stayed at the Movieland for the first time during april and I have to say that I was very pleased.
The room was very clean and well presented and the maid service was always very good,as for the movieland its self, the property is very modern, well kept/maintained and staff are polite/helpfull.
The only downside (If you can call it that!),was The Black Angus bar/restaurant,not that there was anything wrong - but like other people have seid it is on the pricey side,if you want breakfast/dinner then try Ponderosas and for a beer try Bennigans both of which are a short walk up the road.
As I am a single traveller,I usualy find that hotels are expensive,I booked on-line and saved a fortune both accommodation and return flights,so if you are a single traveller - I suggest you do the same!.

I had a great stay at the Best Western Movieland. It was very good price. It is a great location on International Dr. They have free bus to go to Universal, which was very convenient, and also to Sea World. The staff at the front desk were very helpful, always smiling and cheerful. Also the housekeepers were very nice, always greeted us when they passed by. The hotel room was nice and clean and very spacious, the pool is very clean and big. Overall had a wonderful stay. Would definately go back and recommend to my friends and family.

I was worried about staying here because some of the reviews were not very good, but we had absolutly no complaints. The rooms were very clean, and the maid service was in everyday to clean up and make the beds. We found reception helpful, and there was information available to us about all the parks and transport etc. There was an I-drive stop right outside the hotel, which was great because we used that to get around everywhere. (Buy a 14 day unlimited pass) They also run free bus services to Universal which was great and taxis back were only $5 if u didnt catch the bus. Wet and Wild was opposite which meant we could go over when it opened first thing and get on all the rides before it got busy later on.
The hotel is great if you are just looking for a base for two weeks. Lets face it - your in Florida, your not going to want to be in your room that much, there's too much to do!

the staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was clean and tidy, cleaned everyday the pool area was very clean too.
The hotel is in an excellent location on i-drive surrounded by shops and retaurants, the hotel offers free transport to universal parks and seaworld and just outside is the i-trolley stop which takes you to the disney parks and shopping malls which we used nearly everyday so bought a 14 day ticket which is cheap also wet and wild water park is directly over the road.
we could not find a fault with the hotel at all i would definetly recommend it to anyone and we will be returning,
overall great hotel great holiday : )

My 2nd stay in this hotel (stayed before when it was Best Western Movieland) and still love it! Great hotel perfectly situated on International Drive to get to everything you want.
Rooms are big and clean with Air con and TV. Bathrooms were clean and neat, just what we wanted from a hotel in Orlando. Swimming pool is lovely and the staff were extremely helpful - highly recommend and will be going back for my 3rd stay there next year!
