Yesterday was the first time I had used this store and the last time I will. I am not sure how a business owner could treat customers the way the woman treated me. I walked in, my husband and daughter behind me, went up to the counter where no one greeted me, I said "hi" to the woman (owner) and smiled and she gave me the blankest, rudest look and completely ignored me, only to have her husband step in to take care of us. There was so much I wanted to say to her about her rudeness and customer service, and the only reason I did not was because my daughter was with me. I am half of the woman's age and I know better how to treat people and how to handle business. It reminds me to make sure I teach my daughter how to appropriately treat others.
I've been a satisfied customer at Grand Oaks for 7 years. I rent a mailbox and have them sign for my package deliveries etc. George is the man who runs the place and he is top notch. My experience has always been very positive. If you like to deal with nice people in a cozy atmosphere then you have found the right place.
My 83 year old father used this place to send me stuff using my fedex/ups account numbers. I would always tell my dad to send stuff ground to save money but when packages actually get sent, they are, oddly enough, sent overnight and my father never seems to know exactly what happened. He says he is just tells the guy he needs something shipped, is handed a form and fills it out and they take the package and bill it to me. I was not exactly sure what was going on... once is easily a mistake... twice a question... but it happening this way SO often makes me VERY CURIOUS if this company is trying to rip my poor father (and me) off. My father feels like an idiot now which is so awful. I called this location just to find out what happened and the man who helped my dad YELLED at me on the phone when I just asked him if my dad asked for overnight service or not. He very aggressivly teld me that it was my dad's fault, to take it up with my dad, not them. When I said that the hostility he was using to deal with my questions just trying to figure out what was going on, was horrible customer service and he hung up on me!!! What?! Now, as a result of the way he treated my legitimate inquiry, I am quite confident they may have been giving my father overnight slips when he intends to send something 2nd day or ground to rip him off. People who make honest mistakes are unlikely to react this way to a customer inquiry. My suggestion... USE ANOTHER SHIPPING PLACE! I have NO confidence these folks will not rip someone off on purpose.
