This place is awesome! The only thing I thought was wierd was the carpet, and all the staffs garb. Those are my only complaints. The lobby is very large and welcoming, the rooms were nice, the bed comfortable, the shower hot and the staff was more than helpful. Loved it, but would also love to check out all of the other resorts as well.

I've been lucky enough to stay at this resort twice: once when it first opened and once in July 2007. The quality hasn't dropped in the slightest. The lobby is amazing- pictures just don't do it justice. A bubbling stream starts in the lobby, flows outside into a river, over a waterfall, into the pool, then out into the lake (ok, so it doesn't really do that- but they do a great job at creating the fantasy). The rooms are beautiful and many have the great view of the pool area and lake. It's nice to sit on the balcony and relax with a drink above the kids running around the pool. Nothing beats this resort at night. It's just spectacular to look at. Every staff member we encountered was perfect- polite, friendly, and able to answer any questions. If you're going to Disney, please try this resort: it's Disney at their best.

We've stayed at a number of places on the WDW property and by far this was the greatest. The rooms are great and since it is a Disney Vacation Club property they are equipped very well (washer/dryer, full kitchen, jacuzzi).
Take advantage of the kitchen (saves $$$), the pools (a kid friendly pool with a fun slide and a quiet adult friendly pool) and the three hot tubs! There is even relaxing native pan flute music playing outside.
Sitting on our patio we got to interact with a lot of nature - salamanders, frogs, rabbits, and even a resident family of armadillos!
Tip: if you are staying for a few days and plan on spending time at the resort, buy a resort mug at Roaring Forks. For $11 it can be refilled as much as you want during your stay. They are open from 6am to midnight.

I have personally stayed at every hotel on the Disney property in Florida and California. My favorite is WILDENESS LODGE.
It is based on a northwest territory lodge from the ealry 1900`s and the treatment of the staff and the extra`s available to a couple or family at this hotel cannot be matched anywhere. If you ever wanted a dream vacation that you will want to do again and again this is the place to stay and go to. The best rooms are the suites they cost more but are worth it. If you want to go cheaper ask for the standard room and if none are available when you get there, they will bump you up to a waterview room free, I got upgraded to the presidential suite once from a standard room because they were booked solid. Like I said the best service anywhere.
This hotel is breathtaking once you enter the lobby. We have stayed here at Christmas time and it is incredible to see the rustic trees and green wreaths throughout the resort. I highly recommend the Whispering Canyon Cafe in the lobby for dinner if you have kids. It is a very kid friendly atmosphere and everyone is encouraged to join in the fun. The waiters are full of personality and will make your visit unique and memorable. I was so taken by this hotel, I bought a vacation club membership at the resort.
