Worst haircut of my life. I'm very upset because I came back in asking them to fix it and was turned away. It's uneven, and chunks taken out of the bottom layer. My side-bangs are much shorter than I asked for and aren't blended well. I will not be back.

I think this salon is blessed with some real talented stylist. I live in Nashville and come in every couple of months for a week to visit family so I am fine with whoever is available on the day that is best for me. Holly and Matthew are both level 3 stylist. He is younger and has climbed from level 1 to 3 pretty quickly. The first time I saw him his price was 25.00 and now his cuts are $65.00. A little too much for me. Holly has been a level three longer and is more experienced. She was more in tune with what I liked and was describing to her. Her personality is more light and fun too. I also used Josh once he is a level one so I was absolutely stunned when I was charged $50.00 for the cut. Seems a bit high when a level one cut was about half of that a year ago. I will say he took his time though, he paid attention and he listened well to what I wanted and I left with a hair cut I liked very much (except for the price). Josh and Holly have been my favorite hair cuts. An acquaintance of mine uses the owner Scott and can't say enough about how wonderful his cuts are. All in all there is some genuine artistic talent here, I just hope they slow down on raising the prices any further in the near future.

The Absolute BEST Salon Ever!!!

I cannot say enough about this salon. The owner Scott is always so friendly and the receptionist is so accommodating as soon as you walk in the door. If you are looking for a snooty salon then don't bother going here. Everyone is so down to earth and when you walk in you feel like you are at home. I am the pickiest person EVER about who touches my hair and Alan is the most fabulous hair stylist! I know this because I have been to almost every salon in Orlando looking for a decent haircut and I have been to lots of other salons in many other states as well. I have naturally curly hair and no one has ever been able to cut it right. I have never been to a stylist where I can walk out the door and my style last for 4 days without having to wash my hair or restyle it. Alan is just that good at what he does. He knows hair, he knows what he is doing, and he always wants to make sure you are 100% satisfied.

DON'T go to Alan! Cut off 11"" instead of 8"".

The Cut & Color room is not an upscale salon, nor worth your time and money. I've been going to Alan for years; he's been okay, but after my last experience I hope to never see him, or the salon, again.

I asked Alan to cut off 8"" so I could donate to Pantene. Alan informed me he didn't have a ruler (I've never had to bring my own ruler before). While trying to figure out what to do another worker mentioned a piece of paper is 8 1/2"". I agreed to 8 1/2"" and Alan created two pony tails, showed me, and a I agreed. This is where things went south. Alan moved them to the back and snipped them off. They looked longer than I expected but I didn't say anything because I figured it was the initial shock of losing 8 1/2"" of hair.

During the entire haircut Alan talked non-stop about how bad other stylists are, how many bad colors he's fixed, etc. As he was cutting, and cutting...and cutting (in places well above my neck) I told him it looked really short. He replied ""shut up--I'm not cutting anymore; I'm just doing the layers"". He laughed, like he was joking about the shut up, but he was totally disrespectful and unprofessional.

When I got home I measured the hair he was ELEVEN inches!!! He used the wrong side of a piece of paper! I immediately called the salon and was only able to speak to the receptionist--she informed me she would tell Alan right way and then hung up. I never heard from her, or Alan again.

No professional stylist uses a piece of paper to measure hair. And everyone knows that a piece of paper is 8 1/2"" x 11"". Alan never called to apologize or offer to make things right.

Alan is anything but professional - don't trust him and don't waste your money.

Worst Haircut and Color Room

Matthew might just be the worst ""hairdresser"" I have ever encountered. His haircutting skills make him an excellent candidate for ""Super Cuts"" as a hair washer.
He has no concept of hair color and will DESTROY your hair. So, if you want over-processed color and a haircut that looks like a 5 year old did it...Then Matthew at the Cut & Color Room is clearly a #1 choice. Shame on the owner for allow this incompetent boy to be destroying hair.

Thanks for making my wife happy

We meet the owners at a dinner party and after they listen to my wife recount every bad salon experience she had, since moving to Orlando, they gave her a card and offered their salon to help make her happy.

We were surprised to see both owners working when we went in for our visit. Jeff at the front desk was efficient, polite and very professional. Crystal had great knowledge while cutting and coloring my wife's hair. So I decided to get a haircut too. The owner, Scott, stopped by to say hello and check on the progress, then he was off to another client.

We could not believe how busy they were and the salon was everything they said it was going to be. Life is better when your wife is happy.

I strongly recommend their salon.

I finally used my Mothers Day gift card and treated myself to a facial and highlights. The facial lady Gigi was amazing and with my new highlights I look and feel 10 years younger- thanks to Rebecca. I won't be waiting till next year for another visit.

My wife got her hair done here once and instead of a serene day at the spa got a disaster. The staff was exceptionally snooty and unfriendly.. The only real enjoyable moment was checking out, so she could finally leave. This is not an upscale salon!!! Compared to NYC and LA this is like a cost cutters, hair cuts at the cut and color room should be more like $5 but thats even a bit pricey for what you receive.

Very Happy Client

After spending 2 years in Iraq, I was happy to find my favorite hair salon had moved to a beautiful new location. I love it! My stylist, Charlotte, remembered me and my color formulation. It only took her one visit to get the Iraq damaged ends back in shape and my color red and vibrant.

Great Hair - Management is a horror show

Salon is moving to new area to attract more professional clientele. Also, current clients can't afford their prices or their products. Salon reminds me of ""Big Brother is Watching You."" Management are control freaks.

Alan is a miracle worker with hair!!

When you go to the Cut and Color Room you are greeted by the best receptionist in the world. I used to dread haircuts because of snooty salons, overrated stylists, high prices, horrible haircuts, until I found the Cut and Color Room. If you are not getting your hair cut by Alan then your hair is not looking its best. He is hands down the most talented hair stylist in the world. I have never been to a hair salon more than three times and I have been going to Alan for almost 2 years now! Just to give you an idea of how good he is; my last style lasted 4 months! People ask me all the time if I work for this salon because I talk about it everywhere I go; but I don't. I am a real estate agent who is in front of people all the time so I have to look my best. Thank you so much Alan for being my hair stylist and giving me one less thing to worry about in my life! Love you bunches, JM

Ask anyone and they will tell you I am absolutely the pickiest person in the world about my hair. I have been to many salons in the Orlando area and have been disappointed time after time. I have been to many salons that are rated very high here on citysearch and have been disappointed with all of them. I found the Cut and Color Room by doing months of research online but didn't want to take anymore chances so I took my son there to have his hair cut first. My son is just as picky! While he was having his hair cut I asked a few customers with curly hair who does there hair. They told me Alan. I still wasn't brave enough so I talked another friend of mine in to going to see Alan. After her appointment she called me and couldn't believe how awesome her hair cut and color was. I decided that it was finally time for me to go. I told Alan how scared I was and for the first time in my life a hair stylist finally listened. Before he cut my hair he told me what he was going to do. When he was finished I could not believe what I saw. My hair was exactly like I had always envisioned. I moved away back in January to Atlanta and even drove down to Orlando in April just so Alan could cut my hair. I have since moved back to Orlando just to be close to Alan so he could cut my hair. I went today to get my hair cut and I am just amazed that after four times to the salon to see Alan I am still impressed. I have never been to a salon four times!!! The most was twice. Please save yourself any more disappointments and go see Alan. He won't cut your hair off if you have long hair and if you have curly hair he knows how to cut it!!! Alan, if you read these reviews, thank you for giving me my confidence back.

Bridal Updon't

My daughter made appointments for herself, 5 of her Bridesmaids' updo's, the Groom's mom, the Flower Girl and me to have our hair done for her wedding. Every Bridesmaid got a ponytail, either at the side or in back, which was curled with a hotcurler ($75). The Groom's mom looked like she had a jerry curl done. The Flower Girl had a French braid that was lopsided. This was after the Bride and I had cuts and color done twice for a practice. Total bill with tips was about $1500. Everyone was sprayed stiff. And except for the Bride (thank you Jesus) everyone was really upset. No one complained because we didn't want to upset the Bride 2 hr before her wedding. Really disappointing.

Bad start++++ Excellent finish

I let a friend in beauty school color my hair and it was a disaster. After calling in to work sick, I walked into the salon in tears. The lady at the desk was super sweet and got me right in to see a stylist Virginia who had just started working there. We talked about my hair and she had to remove the color from my hair and recolor it. Once she got the hair color out my hair was bright orange and I freaked out!

Two guys working next to her jumped in to help calm me down and they all talked thru my color and came up with a game plan. Virginia mixed up a color and within 45 mins my hair was a natural warm brown. I appologized for freaking out and was even more relieved when I left and the bill was under $150 and my hair felt wonderful.

Virginia was very sweet, a little quite, but she made me feel/ look great. I will only let her do my hair from now on.

Charlotte saved my Hair

Everyone in my office goes to this salon so I thought I would give it a try, and I have never loved my hair this much before. Charlotte did a conditioning treatment that made my hair shiny and soft, then got my hair color even from top to bottom. Now my WHOLE office has great hair!

Clearly the BEST

I have been to several salon in Orlando since I moved here and finally I found a place better then the salon I went to back home. It is very hip, yet, not snobby and I have never felt out of place or had less then stellar service. Every time I've been in for a haircut the place is hopping. I have been to several hairdresser in there and never left unhappy. I orginally wanted to get an appointment with the owner, Scott, but he was booked till October. {So I have been seeing anyone till my Oct Appnt}

Kelli, where are you?

I went to Cut and Color Room and unfortunately I was placed with a guy called Steve who totally messed up my hair. I was upset at the salon for suggesting him, as I had specifically asked for the best colorist and stylist and despite his past experience, he had only been at this salon for two months!
Nevertheless, he is gone, which can only be a good thing for the salon, as they were all very nice people.
I read that Kelli (an ex employee) had moved to The Fountains Salon on Sandlake Road, so I went there and she was an excellent choice for both me and my daughter.
She left this week and I have no idea where to find her.
If anyone knows how to contact her, please put up a post? Kelli - where are you?

I found REBECCA KNIGHT! I'm sooooo excited!

When I first came to the cut and color room I was referred by a friend to Rebecca Knight. My hair was a disaster. I needed a color correction. Rebecca really listened and fixed the many issues that I had going on in my hair. I had a great experience at the cut and color room and loved the atmosphere. When I called to book my next appt I was told that Rebecca was no longer employed at the cut and color room. With much research I finally found her!!! She is now in Winter Garden @ Ultima Salon. I just wanted to write this review incase anyone else was looking for Rebecca like I was.
