For Cardiovascular Interventions, this has been one of the most rewarding aspects of providing cardiology care today. The Walk-in Cardiac Care Center, part of Cardiovascular Interventions, is the first of its kind in Orlando. Here, our walk-in service provides similar investigation and management when compared to a hospital emergency room visit at a fraction of the cost and in a more efficient manner.
Electrocardiogram
A cardiac event monitor is a small portable device worn by patients during their normal activity for up to 30 days. This device is capable of recording the electrical activity of the heart in the form of an electrocardiogram (EKG) for up to several minutes. This is intended to record arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythm) that would not be found on a routine EKG or to record an arrhythmia that is so infrequent, it is not detected on a 24 hour Holter monitor.

Currently, she thoroughly enjoys working as a Physician Assistant at CVI, where she can work alongside and learn from the team, especially Dr. Jamnadas. She takes great pride in the excellent care provided to the patients and enjoys forming bonds and watching the progress they make towards a healthy lifestyle. She is also a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and worked in Internal Medicine for two years prior to joining our group.

Knowledge of the coronary calcium score can be a very strong motivating factor for lifestyle modifications, dietary changes, stress management, and pharmaceutical interventions. Most cardiovascular events come unannounced and do not give the patient an opportunity to have avoided the event with simple preventive measures. Our modern lifestyle habits can be clearly detrimental, and lead to coronary atherosclerosis, yet, we are led to believe that we are leading a clean, healthy lifestyle and diet. Hence, the first cardiac event comes as a shock.

Ultrasound
At Cardiovascular Interventions we use a duplex ultrasound that evaluates the how your veins are functioning. This is a non-invasive procedure that uses sound waves to detect blood flow. The direction of travel is shown on screen with different colors. This allows us to see if your symptoms are from vein disease and diagnose the severity to ultimately find the best treatment options.

Computed Tomography
A CT or CTA (Computed Tomography Angiography) is a specialized type of x-ray that is focused on the organs, veins, and arteries of your body. The CTA specifically focuses on detailed images of the arteries and allows the radiologist to see if there is an aneurysm (ballooning of the blood vessel wall), stenosis (narrowing of a blood vessel), or to see if a stent that has been inserted to keep a vessel open is working correctly. This is accomplished by using a special dye that is injected into a vein.
