Amazing history, Great Experience

Awesome food, great restaurant. The fried chicken and the prime rib are to die for. The fried mushrooms appetizer is also my favorite. They have hundreds of historical guns on display and the valet crew is the nicest group of gentlemen.

Never had an issue or bad meal at the casa.

Best Fried Chicken

If you like fried chicken this is your place! Yummy friend chicken and nice strong drinks. Great cowboy themed atmosphere with a fire place. Great place to watch a game if you're into that. This place is really a good old timey place.

Great evening

I love to come to Casa Orinda with my family for a great evening out. The atmosphere is great, the rooms are all interesting and full of local history, and the food is great quality American classics. I love the service and the full bar, and when we are done we feel like we have had fantastic old fashioned dining experience. It is not someplace to go to once a month, but for the special night out or celebration. Definately will be part of our family for years to come.

daisy48 is frigid!

Regarding Daisey48's review. Obviously she is in dire need of a really good release of sexual desire as her review is incredibly frigid. Casa Orinda fits the exact bill it wants to. A very traditional place that your dad would like to go to, and a fine meal at a price that is ""you get what you pay for"". I like Casa Orinda for its class and excellent food, bar and traditional decore. and I am not so bigoted to call the hostess ""old white lady"". Grow up daisy!

Great restaurant, if you hate service and money but LOVE fried chicken

Obviously the fried chicken is great, but you will have to compromise on service and cost. Prices are pretty high considering this is NOT five star. Service leaves something to be desired. Usually a snooty old white lady greets you at the reception desk, and she is appalled if you do not have a reservation. Usually long waits and a general were-better-than-you-ness attitude by most older staff (some of the staff are friendly).

Great Fried Chicken, Generous Portions, Stiff Drinks

Old-fashioned restaurant food. Their fried chicken is justifiably renowned, even if the bird is a bit on the small side. The mashed potatoes are smooth and creamy, the vegetables nicely done. The biscuit is superb. Other meat dishes feature generous portions. Lots of pasta on the menu, as well. The cocktails contain lots of alcohol, and the food and drink prices are quite moderate. Very American comfort food served in an Old West-themed restaurant.

Good food, ""unusual"" ambience

Being in Casa Orinda suddenly makes you want to order a Rob Roy or a Manhattan. It's definitely a throwback to a time when a Martini and a thick steak was a swell night out.

The Fried Chicken is renowned, but I'm a fan of their Veal Picatta, which is always tender and delicious. Their desserts are quite good, my favorite being the Mud Pie.

The cowboy theme (!!) is used throughout the place, even in the restrooms. The tasty food will soon make you forget that you're sitting under a wall of pistols, or branding irons.
