If you like to throw your money away One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning is the place for you.

We called One Hour Heating & Air (OHHA) to fix our air conditioner back in June. They came promptly and seemed to diagnose and fix the problem quickly. We joined their club and as a part of that got reduced prices on service and a tune-up. The tech worked on both the inside and outside part of the air conditioner and noted a missing part on the outside. He worked on the outside unit to get it installed. At that time he tested the unit and found it to be full of Freon.

Fast forward a month and the AC freezes up. We call and they come out the next day. The tech arrives and we tell him, I think it has a Freon leak. It froze up last night. We changed the filter and thawed the line and it froze again. He said that he didn't think it was a leak and that it would need 2lbs of Freon. (They charged us $103 per pound for R-22 Freon.) He later came in and said it took 5lbs, it likely had a leak, but wouldn't have a chance to check until the following Tuesday (4 days after filling the leaky AC with Freon).

By the time he returned to "fix the leak" all the Freon we had just purchased plus another couple of pounds had leaked out. (Keep in mind we asked him to look for a leak first.) OHHA than told us the leak was bad and the unit would likely need to be replaced. We asked them to leave and come back to give us time to think about it. They came back the next day and the leak had become multiple leaks and they were certain we needed a new unit. He said it would be between $4k and $5k to replace the unit. (Not including the new Freon.)

After feeling like we had been deceived we called a second place. They came out and diagnosed it quickly. They said it would be between $1,300 and $1,800 to replace the whole unit. (The $1,800 would be an upgraded unit with all new Freon.) The tech did tell us we would need to fill the Freon again at $30 a lb. 66% less than what OHHA charged us.

We are now without AC, and due to the delays working with OHHA it will likely be another 4 hot days until the unit is replaced.

Bottom line, their mark up is more than twice what we were quote by the other group. Please do not use these folks, they are a rip off.

I can't say enough good about this company! They are honest and give your a fair price and they know what they are doing! They wear booties to keep your home clean and they also clean up afterward. They always present the cost of any repairs or work up front and wait for approval before beginning any work. They have serviced my air conditioner and furnace since 2003 and have done work for my family as well. They have always done a great job! I highly recommend them!




I have used these guys for over 5 years now. I got a new furnace, central air, and a new water heater. When I checked prices, they were average. I actually really like the repair plan. I pay 19 bucks a month, and they tune up and check my stuff for free, and actual repair costs are free, only a service charge to go out there. They had to come over once because I had BATS, yes bats, in my furnace fan, from the flue. They fixed it and changed the flue (covered now) for free. They had to fix a few things over the years, again for free, just the service charge. I am in the Army and rent out my house now. They still fix things when needed, and they are very reliable. It's nice to know that there is someone back home I can trust to tell me what the real problem is and what it will take to fix it. Some people don't know a good thing when they see it.

When they answer the phone they say they will be there in one hour or you don't pay a dime. When they actually set up the appointment they tell you a window of 10 to 2. When they come to replace a $129.00 part you will be charged $400.00 and if you refuse, then you are still responsible for $100.00 service charge. Oh yes! They will also try to pressure you into buying a $39.00 a month service call. Which means for the rest of your life you will pay these guys to come over a give your furnace room a sweep.

This is the most un ethical company i know.

For one they do a water test ( not illegal ) just very unethical. furnaces are built to be air tight not water tight. when there employees quit or are let go ( which is a lot) they cheat them on there wages. They do almost anything for a dollar hold your wallets tight. I worked there over three years never once was drug tested or back ground tested so as the owner says at the beginning it is just false.

don't expect efficiency

I'm a nice lady and I don't usually complain but the people at one hour sent us a letter about a springtime deal. We were in the midst of sorting bids, and slowed things down to invite them to bid. One guy came, said he didn't know enough to answer our questions, so sent his boss. Fair enough. Appreciated his honesty. Boss came, same thing: he didn't know answers and wanted to send his partner. When the 3rd guy came, he had no information from the prior to visits, we had to start all over, and then when i shooed him out after 45 minutes, he seemed offended. And they didn't even bother to call and submit a bid.

As a senior citizen it is nice to find a company that I can trust. They do background checks and drug testing. The service guy was clean cut and wore shoe covers so that he would not get my floors dirty. He explained everything so that I understood it, and his price was fair. I would recommend them any time.

Bad experience is outweighed by mediocre service

Nothing was remarkably good or bad about the services performed, although the attitude, professionalism, and odor leads me to believe that One-Hour doesn't need repeat clients



On Time, Professional Service, No hassles

Our furnace was releasing carbon monoxide gases, and we needed repairs in a hurry. One Hour responded right when we needed them. The service tech took the time to explain all of our options, and even gave us suggestions for our utility room, which will save us time and money when we remodel. We have a new and safe furnace now, at a reasonable price (We checked around to make sure-and they are competitive). We recommend them to everyone.

Great job, fair price, excellent service

I had called another company, they came, and their estimate was nearly $4000. I called One Hour, they came, total price was $2500 and they worked with me on payment terms! I have been very pleased with their service, and appreciate not getting ripped off!
