My boyfriend had purchased a ring for me as a Christmas gift. The ring cost over $700 (WAY overpriced for the ring) and that was a discounted price. I loved the ring. He had a diamond in the ring replaced with my birthstone. Come to find out the stone was set incorrectly and was crocked. I took my ring to my jeweler and he looked at it and told me that the head of the ring was never replaced, as it should had, when the stone was replaced and the stone was set crocked. And also that a ring of that size, stone, and material shouldn't have cost nearly as much as my boyfriend paid for it.

I took in my ring to Pohlman's and explained to her that the stone was set crocked and I would like it reset. She then told me that the stone may be cut wrong (un even), one side of it was straight and the other not, and that it may have been set crocked due to my boyfriend ordering it so close to Christmas. My jeweler told me these things shouldn't happen or aren't possible. She was basically making excuses for the stone not being correct and trying to get around the fact that the ring was wrong. She took the ring to reset it. I will be returning it simply for the woman making excuses and lying to me. So congrats to you Polhman jewelers you lost $700 in sales and have an extremely angry customer.

The prices are ridiculously high but they are not worth it! My husband had spent almost $4000 on my wedding set to be told not even a year later by her that they worth $800.



My husband purchased my engagement ring in 2005 for over $2500 (supposedly Anne P sold him a certified diamond). When we purchased my wedding band for over $1200. When I came to her store in late 2006 she quoted me the value of both $800. Anne stated the diamonds from wedding band and the solitaire diamond from my engagement ring were only worth $800 and the platinum bands were worth nothing. She actually asked me if the diamond from my engagement ring was certified or not, which is funny because my husband bought it from her not even a year before.



Highly questionable and shady business practices!
