I wish I could give this company a review “less than 1 star”.“Cornette Property Management Company” is a VERY BAD rental company for property owners in Sacramento area. This company simply wants to make money but is never responsible for anything they did. For example, they managed 2 properties for me. Both of them ended up with “evictions” with long delay. I lost huge amount of money due to it. At the time generating “closing statements” for ex-tenants, this company simply deducted their monthly management fees, late fees and other cost for themselves and left hug amount of unpaid rents, eviction fees, repair fees, cleaning fees and so on to me (property owner). Recently, I happened to discover those 2 evicted tenants were actually evicted 1-8 months by other landlords before moving into my properties but “Cornette Property Management Company” did not check them.This company never did annual inspections unless you agree to pay extra fees. They do not care about your property status at all. In addition, maintenance and repair cost through this company is always very high - usually about “double” of market prices. That means their “mark-up” or “add-on” is about or over 100%.
If I could make it 0 stars...I would!! This company is as shady as they get! DO NOT rent from them, or you will regret it. I should have listened to my instincts when they told me not to even apply. Was the first applicant for a property, told that my application was approved. Set an appointment to look at the property. When they arrived, didn't even have keys to the place to show it. After seeing it, no response to my calls for days. I finally reach some one to be told that I don't qualify for the property. Wasted my time, my money and treated like garbage. This is not the way to do business. I don't know how they manage to stay in business, or why they even have clients. Shannon is a liar and Judy just stands by and supports her. I pity the property owners, because they are the ones that suffer. The property owners lose out on the opportunity to have good tenants because the business doesn't treat tenants well. Very sad.

Greedy Cheating Crooks!! STAY AWAY!!!! I rented a very small older 2 bd condo Benita Dr./RC for over 4.5 years - always paid rent on time; gave 30 day notice and THOROUGHLY cleaned the unit when moving out - Faxed all cleaning receipts, and took over 50 precise shots/photos - (thank God) as these crooks completely disregard all CA tenant laws -attempting to not just deduct from S/D but add charges for normal wear/tear and other general maintenance i.e faulty faucet/hardware - they threaten if not paid they will submit to collection -CA tenant rights/advocates is the legal remedy for such deceitful businesses as Cornette Property Management - look at the actual renter's reviews on YP/Google/YELP/Facebook...and moreNot the ghost/fake ones -no doubt posted by Cornette - STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS!!!!no stars - if I could rate NEGATIVE stars - the # would be countess
Original post 12/2015----Not sure what all the negativity is about.. this property management company was super friendly and helpful! I signed the lease to my first home today! Thanks to all the amazing staff!UPDATE11/2016Still not sure what the negativity is all about.. I have been living in the home for 11 months now and not had any problems with Cornette! Great Management Company and I highly recommend it!
Judy and Gloria, the employees in charge of tenant issues, are horrible to work with. The are NEVER available and extremely unresponsive. Lisa is downright rude and disrespectful. Shannon is extremely unfair. Roger is pretty much a salesman, will tell you what you want to hear, but will not follow through on any of his promises. All he is interested in is getting the properties rented so he can get paid. This is a family run business, but as far as I'm concerned, they give family run businesses a bad name. If you are looking for a rental property, stay far away from any homes that they are managing. You will have a horrible experience.
