We love this school. My daughter is two and comes home and shows me daily all the neat stuff she learns. The other day she was counting in Spanish and told me in sign language she sees a helicopter. Employees are great and always available for questions or phone calls. The daily updates with picture is awesome!
We have been going there for over 2 years now, our daughter takes kenpo and I take kickboxing . No contracts !!!!!! Mr. Derek and Mr. Jesse are great , you get 2 FREE classes . You have nothing to lose . Come give it a try you will love it .
I was so afraid to walk in the Dojo for the first time but as soon as that door closed behind me I became family. The instructor and his family (family owned and operated not a chain) welcomed my family and myself with open arms. My 3 girls and I have been students for many rewarding years. My daughters have learned respect for themselves and others, discipline, self confidence, responsibility, the product of perseverance, and self defense. There are classes for all ages and all levels. I can not thank Champion Kenpo Karate or the instructor enough for the knowledge, self control experience, and memories. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking to find a safe and friendly place to learn.
Mrs Lourdes is such a wonderful teacher and owner. She's being caring for my children for 4 years and wouldn't change our care.
I disagree with the previous comment. Mrs. Tammy is such a sweet lady. She cares so much for all her children that are at that school. I am 13 and my mom works there and she invites me in whenever I need a ride to my junior high, or just because I don't want to be home alone. She also offered me a job for when I am 15 and in my second year of IB. I am sorry that palmtree123 had such a bad experience.
The owner/instructor is very abusive and offensive to the children when demonstrating the forms/kicks. I don't think it is necessary to hit a child that's not even facing you to demonstrate the point (or slap them repeatedly in the back of the head). Use the bag! Very cocky, type A personality that won't even admit his own mistake if made. I walked out!!! NOT ON MY WATCH!
Excellent school for children with autism and other related disabilities. Staff is very knowledgeable and offers moral support to the entire family (not just the student).
I Love the courses that Citizens High School offers for a high school diploma. My older son took a few courses & then got impatient & got his GED. I am planning on starting early & getting a diploma for my 13 year old. I love the flexibility of taking a course at your own pace. This is perfect if you want to start your student early in a subject that they are strong in & above grade level. I like the fact that most of the course work is not on the Internet because it is just too tempting for most kids to start playing games while you are not watching when their school is on the Internet. Hopefully I will be ordering a course soon after the Holidays. Dawn Hoppe
This coach is pretty amazing!!! I started my daughter out here when she wanted to try out for cheer. She went for about a year and learned a lot! Then I decided to switch gyms because I thought "bigger and newer is better" not the case. After struggling for a year at Fleming Island Gymnastics we decided to switch back. Coach is amazing! She has done more in a few short months than she did in a year over there! Coach is very positive with the kids, encouraging them after every tumble and giving helpful correction when things don't go as planned. I am very happy I switched back to United Gymnastics and would highly recommend him to anyone!
NEVER will I go there again. I put up with the tremendous heat, no AC, and cramped space. I took my daughter there and put up with all of it. Today, was my last day. Basically, I had the "coach" come to me, an adult, and berate me in front of my family, kids, and other adults. For standing in a "space" that I was unaware was now "off limits". Not knowing this new "rule" of his, he disrepectfully told me to basically go stand with the other parents ( which by the way, is about 2 feet wide). I asked him to explain why, and let him know that all I was doing was talking with my son, and he basically told me to get out of a little square of carpet I was standing in. When I questioned him on why his son can run around in there and do what he feels like, and I can't stand with my son, and infant daughter, he told me "it's my business and I'll run it how I want." He lost ALL respect from me. I will NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE. Don't waste your time, sanity, or money.
