We reserved a fishing charter with Salty Dog and had a GREAT time! Caught the biggest fish of my life! We saw dolphins and had so much fun! I would recommended these guys for sure! They was so nice to the kids and interacted with them. It was awesome to see the kids get in the action! Great Outfit!
Best saltwater fishing trip i ever been on! Caught a awesome huge red snapper. Water was like glass!
This cruise was the highlight of our vacation. Capt. Will and his crew are the best! The weather was beautiful and our trip aloud us to take in all that this part of the Gulf Coast has to offer.
Went out on a trip today with Capt. John and had a great time. He definitely put us on the fish and taught us some new techniques. I highly recommend him for inshore fishing in Orange Beach or Pensacola.
There were so many safety violations on this trip, I don't know where to start. Suffice it to say that the Indy 500 driver who called himself a captain left us senior citizen-paying stooges outside to get drenched from the water he kicked up with his wild driving while he partied upstairs with his beer-guzzling friends. Soaked to the skin in February's chill, we could not move because he was rocking the boat so much (the seas were only moderate). When we finally made our way inside, we were wet through to our underwear and chilled to the point of hypothermia. The deck hands were neither prepared nor equipped to help people soaked and chilled. No heaters. No hand warmers. No blankets. Not even a dry pair of socks for frozen feet. (If the office people had told us to bring dry clothes as a back up, we would have done so.) No equipment for drying or warming was available —nor was any sort of help offered. We were mostly ignored. I asked one of the hands for help. He refused with, “This is a fishing trip." We asked for black garbage bags. We cut holes for our heads and huddled inside them for the next 5 hours. Some people did get to fish (they were on the dry side of the boat initially). But not for long. This trip was race out, grab your limit, race back and then demand exorbitant tips. Don't walk away from Zeke's! Run! Bad service to the max and quite possibly illegal with its lack of equipment or protocols for attending to passengers' health and safety!
We rented a pontoon in early november and had a blast. It was nice to have a boat with actual seats and furniture unlike the others we have rented in orange beach. No rude people to deal with either. Owner was very nice and of course the price was great too. Will definitely rent from him again next year!
On our gulf shores vacation we always rent a pontoon boat, we called many spots but this one was the cheapest at $175 for 4 hrs. The owner was great! We took off from his house with personal dock, he has 3 boats and is just starting... That was what we was looking for since everywhere else charges $200+ the boats was great and gave us no trouble! The owner wasn't worried about getting there after the 4hrs was up... Great guy! Super fun trip!! If your looking to rent a boat call him up! You will not be disappointed, he will work with you and is real nice! No rude people to deal with! Will rent from him everytime we come back!!!
I've never been on a deep sea fishing trip and had to catch my own live bait on the way out. We spent the first 30 minutes catching live bait fish from under the bridge. There weren't enough rods for everyone and if your line got tangled they didn't have another one ready to use. Didn't catch enough bait fish so we ran out pretty quickly once we started fishing. The deck hands only put out the trolling lines after I spotted a school of fish hitting the top of the water. We caught a few Red Snapper and Amberjack (out of season) within the first two spots, but left even when the fish were still biting. Captain Dale slowly went from point A to point B to point C etc, even when the trolling lines weren't out. (I guess he was conserving fuel) When the first line broke, there wasn't one rod ready to swap out so that you could keep fishing while they fixed it. With two hours left the deck hand assured us that we were going to stop at another spot to catch Red Snapper. We never dropped another line in the water or stopped. We trolled the whole way back. Seems like we could have fished at least one more spot on the way in. We arrived at the dock 30 minutes early. I've been on other boats that get you from point A to point B quickly so that you get more time with your hook in the water actually having a chance to catch fish. The fish were biting, the boat wasn't fishing. During the six hour trip we caught 5 Red Snapper, 3 Spanish Mackerol, and 1 Bonita between 7 people. When you pay $1400 you don't expect to have to catch your own live bait, leave late, and come back early.
Awesome time out on the water! Shooting fish with a bow and arrow is waaaay beter than the usual rod and reel. Hours of action...unreal. Man, we had a blast! Thanks Captain Jarett! See you next year!
