I live in Orange Beach and have eaten at this and other Shrimp Baskets that are scattered about the area before. When you eat at a Shrimp Basket restaurant, you can expect mediocre food, a semi-clean environment, and lackluster service. I have returned because of the reasonable prices. Today I ate at the OBA location and it was the worst experience yet and will also be the last. During the busy summer months, the chain hires on young servers with little to no experience and turns them loose on the tourists. Our server today, Marina G. is the poster child for this phenomenon. We were met with a blank expression and vacant eyes. This child wanted to be anywhere else in the world other than where she was at. She didn't know the menu and had the personality of a banana slug.I asked her a question about the tab and got the idiot treatment. I asked for the manager and was sent a twelve year old named Cameron. He disappeared and never came back with an answer. What do you do? You cash out, leave a good tip and never return. You can also steer your friends and family away and post a review... The Shrimp Basket started out with one restaurant, it was outstanding. The owner began to open more and more locations and it has morphed into just another average place to eat. There are much better options. Tourists feed this restaurant; but locals keep it alive during the off season. This restaurant lost more than one customer today.

Best Coconut Shrimp I have ever had! My review is soley based on this dish. I try to visit the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area at least once a year and this restaurant is always on my list of places to eat. Their coconut shrimp is absolutely amazing and the dipping sauce is incredible. There really is not any way to describe the wonderful flavor that explodes on your taste buds when you take a bite of this shrimp. I would suggest anyone in the area to give it a try!
I have become a repeat customer for Flippers. Food is always good, service is most always good. Prices are reasonable. Attentive staff even when busy. Food always arrives hot and as ordered. The only negative here is that they did away with the free fried okra. You have to pay for rolls if you want them, or order an appetizer. Usually food comes out quick enough that you can really manage without rolls or appetizers though.
Docs is good. Food is good, service is good. Canal Road location is crowded, way too small and you will have to wait quite some time, out in the heat with the mosquitoes. I suggest you go to the other location. Food is good. Service is good. Don't pass up the chance to eat at Docs, just go to the other location to do it.Docs is the best known restaurant in this area. Locals hit this place regularly.
Their gumbo is very good.... lots of shrimp & crawfish. Even though the restaurant was busy, our waitress (who recommended the gumbo) constantly kept our drinks full and was very friendly. Their catfish was good too. It's a buffet so bring your appetite.
Very good food, even the soda was good! Their corn bread with honey butter was exceptional! Now the service was the ultimate! She was so attentive to us! And it was quite busy! Price very fair! Will we go back ? Of course!
Fast and friendly service. I went with the Captains platter I think it was called. Nice combo of crap, grilled shrimp and fish all fresh and very good. Not sure how you spiced the crab and shrimp but it was amazing.
Oysters were okay but paid more for a mixed drink than I ever gave. Would specify drink and price but not sure that is allowed. Will drink water if I ever go back.
This has to be the best fried seafood I have ever had!Doc's does it right & does it fast :) There is always a crowd, so plan ahead!
Wasn't impressed with any of the food. Burgers we frozen from Wal-Mart and chicken was very dry. Fries horrible
