I'm reviewing this company on behalf of a friend that uses them. He is very happy with them and has no problems. Their bill is reasonable and they do not increase rates every period like Republic does. They are local and are therefore able to do a little more for you. I am switching from Republic because of having them increase my bill to over $100 and then having multiple phone calls and more bills before it was corrected. Months later, after they said it would never happen again, I received two more bills, both with rate increases...I'm sure they were slowly trying to get me back up to that $100 mark. When I called Republic to cancel they informed me that I have to call every time I see a rate increase to have them put it back to the original rate that was agreed upon because they increase the rate for every single customer for that region and have no way of NOT increasing the bill for one person even if there is an agreement. I said, "Then I would have to call every time I get a bill.". Anyway, I may be writing my own review of C&M later, but my friend speaks highly of them, and since Republic has a half a star rating and C&M has 1.5 stars, I am convinced I am upgrading.

Very poor service. They constantly keep their answering machine on so its hard to reach a human. And they took out monthly payments even after the form I filled out specified quarterly payments only. Then when I realized it, they failed to give all of my money back and kept their answering machine on to avoid speaking to me about the rest of the money they owed me. Ridiculous!
I don't have any real problems with this company. But, as compared to others that I've had throughout the country they do the minimum amount possible. They absolutely don't communicate well. If there is an upcoming Holiday even close to your pick up day, you need to call. If you receive a schedule in the mail, it will arrive usually after the holiday. Also, I've yet to receive a monthly bill in the mail, before it's due. They aren't set up to pay online (which is kind of shocking). I don't put checks in the mail and haven't for many years. So, I have to call (which means leaving a voicemail because no one ever answers the phone) and pay my bill this way. There is the good and the bad. They will pick up your trash. They do offer recycling (but it's not a viable option with a large family due to the small trash cans). In conclusion, if they would read the above review and make some adjustments...they could earn five stars. UPDATE: Had to call C&M because I never received the bill for this month in the mail. It should be noted that I've never been late paying them in the 15 months I've had service. So, I called to pay the bill and of course, had to leave a message. Received a call back from Brenda. I explained that I wasn't certain, but I thought I needed to pay them despite not having received my bill in the mail. She told me that was strange that they mail them early. I explained that it was really strange because when I receive mine, it's always already past the due date. I went on to pay my bill by phone and she let me know that I would be charged an extra $4.00 convenience fee because I paid after the 10th. I said, that was unfortunate because surely she can see that I always pay immediately when I receive the bill...yes, I'm 6 days past. She gave me two pieces of advice: 1. It's just a card so it might've gotten mixed up will all the other mail and I didn't notice. I explained that I don't get other mail. EVERYTHING is online for me. I do get the occasional flyer etc. but nothing to get mixed up. 2. I should call the post office. Maybe they're delivering my mail to someone else. Really? Well, the post office will definitely get right on that! They'll be searching immediately and investigating this tiny little trash bill in the mail. So, C&M just fell to 1 star from 3 stars. Because I figure that $4.00 didn't make a lot of difference to you...but it did to me! If I'm going to live in this town much longer...I'm going to get another quote from someone else. If they read this and want my business, they can reach out and I'll consider it. My advice now...get someone else. Your record of paying on time and inconveniently plus putting up with missing Holiday pick up etc. and no online bill pay is NOT worth it.
so apparently if your a couple of months behind on your bill they come and retrieve their receptacle but dump the trash in your yard.
I have used C&M for years and couldn't be happier with their service. I love the fact they will pick up overflow or items too large for the container. The larger company used before moving into an are served by C&M wouldn't pick up the garbage if the lid wouldn't close completely. I haven't been hit with fuel surcharges or any other fluctuating costs. I just learned today that C&M offers recycling at a VERY affordable price with no sorting required. Being a smaller company, you won't get an operator at a call center, but in my mind that's a benefit, not a flaw. I've never had a problem getting a return call when I've had a question. I've found them very easy to work with and enjoy giving them my business.
I have used this company for seven years. They put one of the company decals on my trash can. The can is a large plastic barrel that they have emptied for the past seven years. On Monday 8/5/13 I was outside and saw the C&M truck slow down bot not stop. I called the office several times Monday and never got a human just an answering machine. I called several times Wednesday and talked to the machine some more. Finally late Wednesday the office called and told me they were unable to pick my trash up because of the barrel that it was in. Now mind you this is the same container they have been emptying for seven years. I asked the man to explain why they could not now pick it up, the man said he didn't know he was just telling me what he had been told. I then asked why they hadn't told me this instead of just leaving my trash and making me call them. Again the man didn't know he was just relaying information. People like this give small businesses a bad name. I will not renew my service with them again. Beware these people are goofy and don't seem to know anything.
