Sweet Magnolias

I ordered a birthday cake for my daughter & it turned out to be very disappointing. I would not even say it was cake in texture but more like sweet bread or muffin. It was dense & heavy plus w/in 6 hours half the icing fell down the side of the 2 layer 8"-it was not hot in the house/kitchen. Flavor was so so but one of our kids wasn't even interested in eating her piece after a few bites, & she was definitely looking forward to her sister's birthday cake. If I wanted a poor quality cake I could have baked it myself for a fraction of the cost, but I tried to get a great cake for my adult daughters birthday. That didn't happen. We have ordered this specific flavor several time over the years from other bakeries & have always enjoyed it before.

This is an AMAZING bakery, the first second I walked in the first time I knew I had found a hidden Omaha gem. You can actually smell the fact that they use the best quality ingredients in the air. And boy I sure was not disappointed. I have been back many many times since then, and tried almost everything, I have never ever been less than 100% pleased. I do try all the gourmet bakeries and shops in Omaha and this is the best, hands down. I find the shop help extremely friendly and helpful and they are always ready to answer your questions and even custom make orders for you. Tomorrow I am bring an apple cranberry coffee cake to work. I know folks will love it and it's a great value. This is bakery even better than I remember from my childhood and with apologies to my Mom, the best baking ever!

without buying something. Oh for their chocolate cookies! Brownies are wonderful, too. It's wonderful to find an independent bakery, so we don't have to trudge into the chain places.

So convenient and cozy. You can always find a parking space, and before or after you shop, you can eat next door at the Radial Cafe. Heaven on earth!
