Amazing dance studio... excellent dance instruction and caring, loving teachers. Best dance studio in town.
My daughter has attended kitty lee dance for over 10 years. There are a few things I feel should be mentioned as a review. Number 1: The faculty is knowledgeable and progressive. The dancers at kitty lee are fundamentally sound, and are receiving quality training. I have watched dancers both on their competitive team AND in the recreational program grow from year to year. The recitals are organized, and the classes are designed to push each dancer to become better, whatever level they are by the end of the year. It speaks volumes when you watch dancers start at 2 and 3 years old, still dancing when they are seniors in high school at this studio. Number 2. There are no favorites. In fact, I will go as far as to say kitty’s does an excellent job of not making recreational studio members feel any different than team members. An example of this is recital. Team members and rec members are in classes together, and all learn new routines for recital. Do team members attend more classes? Yes. It’s their competitive activity, so of course they are in class more frequently. Is it a big studio? Yes, it is big. But when it comes to recitals and classes, and class size, kitty lee does an excellent job of balancing. Are there times its hectic and loud and chaotic in the studio? Yes. But if it were quiet and empty, wouldn’t that cause you to wonder why? Number 3. My daughter has been on the competition team since she was 6, and I can tell you there have been more conversations between my dancer and the instructors about the process, and the journey to becoming better and stronger as a dancer than there has ever been about the wins. The main emphasis I have seen at kitty lee, has been individual growth. They do encourage the dancers to work hard, and they do try and pull as much out of each dancer as they can because they want them to succeed. If you are looking for quality instruction, in a family style atmosphere, you will find it at Kitty Lee.
