New PatientI had an appointment with Dr. W last week and was very satisfied with my exam and information he provided. I would definitely recommend him. But the office workers has a lot to be said. The worker that checks you out needs to take some quality classes. She has no customer service abilities at all. I personally would say she is rude. Please don't ask her a question !! You may get a mumbling response. She hates her job or simply people. Dr. W , with this type of business sense , your business will fall someday. Not sure if I will go back. How I am received by the administration means a lot to me.

Terrible terrible terrible service. Starting with the staff; both locations have some of the rudest people I have ever met in a professional setting. They are very unprofessional, they do not handle questions well and they are very condescending. They schedule appts, give you a card and when you return a week later, your appt is nonexistent. They are aggressive with scheduling surgeries and they do not listen to your concerns. The doctors, same as the above. I've never sat in an office and witnessed a doctor tell a 75 yr old female that her surgery going poorly "was her fault" with such confidence and rudeness. They were unsympathetic to the surgery that was performed poorly with no regrets behind it. They overcharge for services and treat their patients like they're useless people. We will never be returning to Dr. Shaeffer or any of his facilities. I've been a nurse for 12 years and have never seen this type of service. No one should trust them with their care.
So not kid friendly! The staff member that initially called my son and I to the back was super rude. We all know a 7 year old is going to ask questions and is going to move around a bit. The doctor was very dry. The front desk clerk snapped and said I must have made an appointment elsewhere because she couldn't pull my benefits. I told her I haven't been to an eye appointment in 2 years. I will not be returning to this office.
I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Schaffer. On the day of my appointment, I checked in and one of the receptionist says that Dr. Schaffer doesn't come in until the afternoon, even though my appointment is at 9:00. Few minutes later, she says she called him and that he's coming after all. 45 minutes later, I ask again and the tech says he isn't coming but she'll do a vision check on my eyes because that's what he told her to do on the phone. THAT IS NOT WHY I SCHEDULED THE APPOINTMENT! Not to be ugly to her, but he was supposed to use a specific machine to check a specific problem I was having. So, instead of being upfront that they screwed up, he told her to do some kind of exam in order to hide their mistake. After requesting to speak to him on the phone, his response was "what do you want me to do about it?" Umm..... Check your schedule. Keep your appointments. Hire competent workers that can schedule appointments. Send yourself a reminder text message (since the office sent me 2) about appointments. Be sincere.
I have had some bad experiences with eye care in the past but this was the worst. I went to them a month before I was to go on vacation to give myself plenty of time to get new glasses and contacts to take with me. Long story short, its been 2 months, 3 failed attempts at new glasses, 2 failed attempts to fit me with contacts and 1 staff member that tried to tell me that this was as good as I was going to get because of the frames I chose. I still have not received my refund after almost 3 weeks so I can go elsewhere and start all over again. Completely disgusted.
