have only lived here for about 2 months and its horrible. No hot water and the maintenance man is to smoke outside all the time, they do not have people to answer calls or even take work orders as they are closed. There are roaches everywhere and mold. there has been raids and there is a lot of trouble around here.Neighbor fight and domestic violence our sinks kept backing up so now we have mold all in the kitchen. they have "fixed" the tub but if you take a shower there is water up to your ankles by time your done. they need to close this place down. Pool is green and very dirty.
We recently toured a few units at Garden Gate while looking for a new place. This apartment complex is very old (1980’s) and the units themselves look outdated in their decor. No attic insulation, poor insulation around doors & windows, and Old overworked a/c units = high electric bills (the residents I talked to confirmed this)The community has one amenity to offer: a “sparkling” swimming pool that was closed and full of yucky green water in late June (!?!?). Their advertising for a weight room and clubhouse is false. They have neither. You can do a lot better elsewhere if you’re looking to pay $1600-1800/mo in OKC. I honestly cannot figure how these folks are justifying the over inflated rents they charge for what they offer in return?
Wow! Where to begin? They advertise one price for their units, but tack on $11.00 monthly for insurance which they require. Perhaps this is standard, but why not just advertise the full monthly price? Seems fishy. Then I was told they accept auto pay, which is great because all of my bills are set up that way. I can't say for sure if it was a problem with their online system or my bank account but the Auto Pay did not go through and I ended up being late. They tacked on a $25.00 late fee. I thought it was an anomaly but it happened a second time. At that point I was finished with the joke that their auto pay system is. I then told them I would just be happy to pay with my card over the phone. They told me I would have to come in. Wow..... They can't take a visa over the phone? Oh... It gets worse... I show up to pay, hand the visa to the person working and they tell me they can't take a card payment from me. I'd have to bring in cash. Now this just seems like they are holding my stuff hostage while evading taxes or some other scam. But what could I do? I paid the cash. During move out I left my unit unlocked for 15 minutes while I drove down the road to unload. Came back and they had locked me out of my unit. It's their policy to lock a unit immediately. Imagine you were renting an apartment, paid for insurance and you felt like leaving the door unlocked, and every time you return the complex has locked your door. The $5.00 locks that they sell in their for $21.95 are also worthless. They come with keys made of paper. Thank goodness it came with two because the first one broke right off. I'm sure they do this on purpose so they can charge tenants a huge fee to cut the lock. This place is a complete abomination.
DO NOT MOVE IN: HEALTH HAZARD'S, PAINTED OVER MOLD, NON WORKING PARTS IN APARTMENTS, MICE, ROACHES, SHOOTING IN FRONT IF CHILDREN BUT MOST OF ALL "POOR/CARELESS/UNPROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT".Living here is like hell. Shootings outside, children can't play without caution, Management sit on their asses and let maintenance orders pile up. I have experience 3 different manger's living here and they have no clue how to run apartments safely. They have multiple boarded up spaces with mold under and over you. They paint over there issues. They have careless management taking weeks to fix a simple issue. The abandoned units are sickning and un safe for resident's. It's not work your health or safety!
This place is a joke. There's a mold problem and roach problem. If you call the manager she acts like it's a big problem for them to come spray. If you call about mold they just wiped it off the walls and paint over it instead of fixing the problem. The mold ends up growing back. My kids have had major health problems from this place. The mail boxes are broke as well and half doesn't close and the one key can open multiple boxes so anyone can get your mail. Kids get in the broken boxes and takes the mail and throw it on the ground while filling the mail box with sand... this place is horrible! Don't ever have an emergency maintenance problem cuz they either won't show or take 4+ hrs before they do show. Our kitchen sink was backed up and it was flooding the kitchen, I called emergency maintenance and he called back and said he'd be here in 30 minutes, 5 hours later he finally showed. My kitchen was a mess and smelled like sewage!
Manager and maintenance workers are Lazy, No good, Low life's, and they DO NOT CARE ABOUT TENANTS...

These apartments are very very disappointing the lady is very unprofessional will not work with you take them more than a week to come put fix a hole in your wall come in your house unexpectedly move around your things she nitpick about everything if it’s not her way then it’s an issue For the amount of money I’m spending here I would definitely go live somewhere in the slumps then be treated like this.....:
Horrible experience, Management is disrespectful and ignorant to basic housing issues: plumbing, pest control. Refuses to deal with roaches in our home.Maintenance is slow and does shoddy work. I have fixed more things than they have.Wish I could give it 0 stars
I've lived here for almost a year, and love it. I was concerned because I read all the bad reviews, but I went and saw the place, and was impressed. Then I reread the bad reviews and noticed for the most part people sounded bitter and unhinged. The staff is awesome! They plan events for the community, are super friendly and helpful (some more than others, but mostly they are...the manager is awesome, and hard to see Ericka without a welcoming smile on her face). They're super attentive to our needs, and if I submit a maintenance request, it's typically handled within hours. Maintenance has been a total non-issue, except how quickly things get handled...it's noticeable. Overall, I'd describe it as a family atmosphere. As far as the residents, it's most mature folks, many families, and some singles. As a parent, I have observed that most residents either have kids or love kids. They worked with me, and have with others on the unit, price, deposit, etc...proving very flexible. Overall I've loved living here. The complex is super spacious, not the typical "cram in as much as we can," campus. Buildings have 20 yards between them, as does the pool, tennis courts, etc. All are well maintained. Nothing is paradise. There is garbage/junk that residents leave around, like drink cups, etc....and it can sit there longer than I'd expect. I'm a responsible neighbor, and I like to teach my kids that if you see a mess, even if you didn't do it, clean it up. So when it's one or two things, and they're able to be touched without gloves, I will help out. But my biggest negative is that they really need speed bumps. People drive entirely too fast through the parking lot. However, it's a nature of the design, as the lot is very wide and spread out. Enough for three or four cars to pass side by side. If it were tighter and constrained, maybe people would drive slower. As it is, speed-bumps would solve it, but puzzlingly, they don't install them.
