I read some of the other reviews on here and felt the need to leave one of my own. Although my wedding hasn't taken place yet (3 weeks to go!!) I have loved working with Walnut Creek. I am obsessed with details and a ""planner"" personality, so a ""stress-free chapel"" made me worry I wouldn't get my dream wedding. However, I have been plesantly surprised. My mother, fiance, and I feel in love with the absolute beauty of the chapel the moment we saw it... after booking our date, everything has fallen into place. I chose their platinum package.. but customized it to my own liking.. i change a lot of things.. and they didn't mind a bit, they even commented on how much they liked my ideas! Our wedding will be at 7:30 on a Saturday night.. and the normal package allows you to arrive at the facility at 6pm.. I didnt think this would be enough time, so I asked if we could come earlier, at 5 and they said no problem! They schedule several meetings with you to plan all the details, which is helpful. The only complaint I had is that their meeting times dont work well for people who work 8-5 jobs, however they often stayed late for me. The catering is DELICIOUS! I think it depends on what you choose.. they had some things I didn't care for.. but you have SO MANY options that I love what we ended up with! They also customize things for you.. we mixed and matched from their different packages to create the buffet we wanted.
All in all, I say yes, the chapel is pricy, but they provide so many things for you, including 2 planners/cooridnators and help you with all the details you take on yourself. All of the vendors I chose, Visuality photo, Trochtas Flowers, Ideas in Ice, had nothing but raving reviews for me!!
I plan on posting again after the wedding.. hopefully I still feel happy about it, but I'm pretty sure I will!
I was in my friends wedding and I felt so sorry for her the way wedding day went. The staff was so rude and rushed her all night! The guests were still arriving and they were rushed in and some of them were told by the preacher they had to wait outside so they could start the wedding.....RUDE!
After the wedding the staff and the preacher rushed the photographer to hurry up and finish, the whole evening was rushed and to top it off the preacher forgot my friends name during the ceremony. Not the evening she had dreamed of!

My friend was told she would have a ""....stress-free wedding"" NOT! It is a nice place but the owners are not professional or personable. They get you in by making you think that they will cater to your every need, want, and desire - NOT!. They set up your appointments with the vendors for you, which by the way are a joke since they won't let you use anyone other than THEIR vendors! Their service is crappy, crappy, crappy and it must be they are getting some sort of kick back. The DJ makes you fill out a long form and then doesn't follow your requests. The Cake lady does not pay attention to detail and does not deliver the cake that is picked from the ""cake book"" and it wasn't a good cake, there was a lot left over. The photographer was slow and didn't seem to know what he was doing. And they openned the buffet while we were taking pictures. When the bride, groom and bridal party entered reception everyone was finishing up, and there was no place for them to sit, their reserved tables were taken They rushed the bride to cut the cake. The staff did not control the flow of the wedding as promised. BEWARE BRIDES!!!!!

Walnut Creek Wedding Chapel ""We specialize in stress-free weddings"" Are you kidding me? If I would have searched for reviews on this place they call a business first, I would have NEVER booked my wedding here! Yes the chapel, reception, and the groundskeeping is beautiful, but the owners are not professional or personable.
Walnut Creek reels you in by making you think that they will cater to your every need, want, and desire. They set up your appointments with the vendors for you, which by the way are a joke. They have certain vendors that are locked in to give you crappy service and they get paid for showing up, regardless of if they do a good job or not. The DJ vendor makes you fill out a 4 page form that they do not adhere to. The Cake vendor does not pay attention to detail and does not deliver the cake that is picked from the ""cake book"". Also, you will get to taste only 2 of the several selections she has available.
The most disheartening thing was that the DJ announced the buffet was open while we were taking our pictures. When we entered reception people were finishing up, our reserved tables were taken, and we had to rush through our cake cutting. The staff did not control the flow of the wedding as promised. For $28 per head they definately need to hire a bigger staff. I had a staff of 3 in a wedding of 150 plus people. With the Chapel and Reception for the staff to cover, my expense for my ""dream wedding"" was ruined!!
I was 2,000 miles away on my honeymoon wondering if I chose the right facility for my wedding and the answer if NO!! I wrote a lenghty letter to Walnut Creek Chapel, Owners, Staff and Vendors to express my distress. I didn't not receive a response until a month later when I sent a certified follow up letter. They responded with ""It is unfortunate that you felt this way"" One sentence and I spent over $7000 for 5 hours of them asking me what they should do next. BRIDES BEWARE, I DIDN'T GET WHAT I PAID FOR!!!

Walnut Creek is a beautiful facility. Unfortunately, that's where it ends. Everything is their way or the high way. You pay a lot of money (a ton for Oklahoma) and should be calling all of the shots. They plan everything out for you and won't let you make any changes. I asked around with some florists and caterers after the fact (don't call A Spot for Tea, their default caterer, as it's run by the owners daughter) and found that some refuse to do jobs at Walnut Creek because they are so difficult to work with! How bad does a place need to be for a caterer to turn down a job? One said that they had a couple of guys quit right after a Walnut Creek job! They also rush and order you around on the day of the wedding. I didn't enjoy myself at all. They have a nice room for getting ready, but you only have 30mins to use it because they have the bride for the next day in there looking around during her rehearsal. Who takes 30mins to get ready for their wedding?
If you want a place that looks pretty good, don't want to make any decisions for yourself, and get ordered around at your own wedding, this is your place you!
