This is a fantastic school! Both of my children have attended here and I would never consider sending them anywhere else! The teachers make sure the children are always having a wonderful time while adhering to high educational standards. They encourage parent involvement, have wonderful caring staff, and always strive to personalize your child's educational experiences. My children were excited every single day to wake up and go to school!

Glad my daughter attends this school! Her vocabulary is incredible for a 3 year old and is learning a solid foundation for her future school years.

It only takes a week to notice a difference in development from a traditional daycare. The one on one teacher time is great. My 4 year old was learning basic math and reading skills before pre-k. Well worth the cost of tuition if you care about your child's early education.

We have found Village Montessori to be an extremely special place that has helped our little girl grow, learn, and thrive. She is a very strong-willed child and can be very challenging, and we know that not every place is a good fit for her, but VM has been the right place. We moved from out of state and enrolled her at age 20 months, and two years later, she is beyond her years in education and is making great progress in all other areas. This is because the director and her teachers have taken the time to get to know her personality and to recognize the best ways to interact with her to embrace her strong-will and use it to help her learn how to be a caring friend and a good and patient student. Her teachers and our family have maintained continual and constructive communication, and we feel like our daughter is supported in the same way at school as she is at home. We can't say enough about VM, and we look forward to sending our next child there when she is old enough.

The Village Montessori is not ...

The Village Montessori is not anywhere close to being a "real" montessori school. They do not practice the montessori method properly or even follow the basic principles of what montessori is based on. The teachers are not trained in montessori either, this school is actually a glorified daycare. The classrooms are rundown, and the entire campus could use a makeover. They move kids to a new classroom every couple of months, not allowing time for learning growth or adjustment; they just wanna cram more kids in the door. The owners/directors are never available or helpful, they don't care about your kids, just want $$$$.

We were extremely disappointed...

We were extremely disappointed in the integrity, communication, and dedication to the development of our niece. We would not recommend Village Montessori to anyone with a child exhibiting slight behavioral or developmental issues as our experience taught us they are not equipped to handle these children. (Please read on for more details of our experience.)

My fiancé and I obtained guardianship of our niece last December. During the four months we were enrolled at VM we met with the teachers on numerous occasions. We expressed the need for consistency with her environment (due to the neglect that had occurred).... and instead they moved her from classroom to classroom looking for a "better fit"...making these changes before even speaking with us.... and further disrupting her need for consistency = security.

In the end, they classified a four-year-old little girl (adjusting to a new family and just taken from her mother) as "spiteful and vindictive" -- to which all of our pediatric specialists, who have been with us since the beginning, completely disagree.

We will be the first to admit the difficulties that we've experienced with our niece's transition...however, we feel that VM handled everything totally inappropriately. We wish that they had been honest about their capabilities when we initially interviewed with them.

Since leaving VM our niece has excelled at Piedmont Primary, creating relationships with the teachers and students. If you would like your child to have a healthy and happy academic upbringing we would highly recommend the Piedmont Public School District.
