I had a total transformation. Jennifer Ouellette is the best stylist I've had the pleasure of working with to give me the right style and color for my hair. The staff is very attentive and Jennifer will be the only one styling my hair from now on. Great place. Great people. Thank you! You're awesome! !

It was great at first they have decent customer service BUT when it came time to flat iron my hair the lady just blew dry it then only took a couple of sections of hair and flat ironed it my bangs were puffy along with my bangs I had to go home and flat iron my hair and on top of it the actual teacher Joe cut my bangs with out even styling them he just took some hair and snipped it so I was like ok..then I went back to get them fixed he cut them really short then thinned out my hair with out asking permission I have thin hair already then to make everything worse they are not even!!! Plus they can't dye your hair how you want it so...I would not recommend this salon unless are ready for pure dissapomtment and bad hair days

Do not hesitate to try it!

I have been going to the Academy for roughly 5 years now. I kept seeing my students (college) walking around with these great, sassy cuts and they were all going to the same place-the Academy. If you don't have much time, and want the star treatment that you get (and pay for) at the high priced salons, you will NOT be happy here. However, if you want to spend a relaxing, fun afternoon getting your hair cut or colored, give this place a spin. The instructors are very present, and depending on the level of the student, will step in and do part (and sometimes all) of the procedure. I have always felt like like I was in good hands, and if I wasn't happy with something, they would do whatever necessary to fix the problem. Love it, love it, love it!

Great for the Price

I'm usually extremely picky about who cuts and colors my hair. In fact, I will usually only use two people. But with a smaller budget and needing a cut/color, I decided to head to the Academy of Hair Design. And I will head there again!

Everyone is a student, so expect for the cut and color to take a bit longer. There are several teachers there to supervise and help. Before anything is done, the teachers will speak with you (the client) about what you want and talk with the students about what they need to do. They will also make sure to check in before anything else is done. This includes color when it is put on and washed out and the cut throughout. They will also come see the finished product and make sure you are happy before you walk out.

Is it possible to go to a better place? Yes. Expensive salons might have more experienced stylists, but for the money, you really can't beat the Academy of Hair Design.

My only note? Make sure you know what you want when you go in. The same can be said whenever you go get your hair done - whether here or elsewhere. Pictures help the stylist know what to do!

I got a cut, one color, and a deep conditioning treatment for right around $60. And who knows - I might have met my future stylist!
