My family dined on a week day in the early afternoon. We went to Ted's based on a recommendation from a friend who said it was the best Mexican food to be had in Oklahoma. It was a busy place and quite noisy - not a place to have a pleasant conversation with friends or family. The service was outstanding and though the tables were close, there was still plenty of room to get around. Our group had a variety of dishes including both beef and chicken. The serving sizes were just right - nobody cleaned their plate and we did take home doggie bags. After being seated we were given bowls of salsa and queso cheese dip. Unlike other restaurants we were each given our own bowls and so did not need to share - double dipping anyone?. Along with the dips we were served a free bowl of pickled veggies - very tasty and not too hot. We also had to containers of hot flour tortilla's that were very tasty. The queso had a distinct flavor that I could not place at first. It was tasty, unlike many of the watered down sickly yellow looking stuff that you get from most Mexican restaurants in Oklahoma. The salsa was very good. We asked for and got some hot salsa - most green, hot salsa served in other restaurants are hot but without taste. This stuff had both tast and heat. The servers kept the chips and dips coming without our having to ask. We found the distinct flavor of the queso cheese dip was also in the rice, chicken and beef entrees but it stronger in the beef. We finally identified the taste as cumin. I asked the waitress to verify and she came back and confirmed our guess. The cumin was a bit much in the beef and quite frankly tasted really good to me but the other members of my party found it to be too overpowering and in fact blamed a general blah feeling later on to the cumin. My grandson refused to eat his beef enchilada because of the cumin taste. Ted's bent over backwards to make sure he was happy. They offered chicken strips but he settled for another enchilada without the chili - just cheese. He ate it but he was not particularly pleased with it either. The prices at Ted's are a little high. Everything on the lunch menu was $8.95 with ""add an item"" selections for about $3.99. I added a tamale to my burrito plate. Very good. I have eaten Mexican food all over the world, and having grown up in California I have a definete idea of what is great and what is not. I would rate Ted's at 75 on a 100 scale. However, so far it is the best I have had in Oklahoma. My family would tell you otherwise and they said that they would not go back with me if I ever decided to eat there again. All things considered, I would rather dine at Panco's Mexican Buffet and make everyone in my party happy.
Want to be disrespected and have your meal ruined? then run right down to Ted's Espcondido's on south Western and let the unruly kids ruin your meal and the management will let them stay and ruin the whole sections meal!!! Love the place but wont stand to let anyone direspect me and have management back THEM!!!! Puking... sounds, mmmmm' Goes good w all the food going down huh? very appetizing. Love the food but wont return.
I am an athlete all my friends are athlete, it's really hard to be in shape and go out, I did not eat in Mexican restaurant for years, and I was amazed when one of your employers cattier us a to-go order, first what I noticed the portions are huge one double order of Fajita can feed attests five people per serving, addition to the lean chicken meat with amazing flavor, there is a diet side options as well, we got steam bean and steam corn, huge portion, good flavor and I can tell it was prepared fresh and that was not all in the package, there were corn Tortillas, home made salsa, made with fresh tomatoes and kick of a garlic, addition to salsa we got some pickle carrots pickled onions and jalapimions , some hot avocado green sause, all the appetizer were low on calories have a great taste to it. Anybody who under training or on a diet bust still want to have a good meal Ted's are best choice to go to, portions is huge enough to share with three people food is fresh and affordable I highly recommend it good flavor good prices
I live in Dallas,"I have been too many Mexican restaurants in the United States and Teds is my favorite every time i am in Oklahoma city before i do anything else i need to come to Teds on may, The food is always good its fresh, tasty, and appealing,It has a comforting and cozy atmosphere, and the service is beyond incredulous, i never received so much attention in my entire life, the second i set my foot inside the restaurant your black guy brings me coke with allot of squeeze limes in it i even do not need to ask him, and before i live he always package my to go box and put fresh tortillas and set up with it, your management amazing as well i always get checked every 15 minutes.Ted's is not you must try place, or good place to eat Mexican food Ted's is ONLY place to eat Mexican food. I would really love franchise information to move Teds somewhere close to Dallas or Texas area. I really love you, guys

I really like the Salsa the best! The fajitas are top notch much better than Chelino's and any other place I've been to. I agree with other's that the wait time is ridiculous. Any time you go to Ted's plan on waiting at least 30 min to eat, and if you're a person with small kids like me, this is almost impossible. I don't understand why they don't invest money to get a bigger place? The tables are darn near stacked up on top of each other! Not much elbow room. But the service is wonderful and the food is very good. Its worth the price you pay.
The previous two reviews about Teds need to be erased from a yellow pages, it's nothing but a false accusations and really amateur and dishonest comments about one of the best restaurants in town, I being coming to Teds for 12 years now and I was never disappointed not in food not in service, Ted's chicken fajitas one of the kind, little slice of heaven, every platter at Ted's big enough for a couple, food always hot flavorful well cooked and well presented, and on top of big portions you always get unlimited amount of chips, salsa, cheese, and tortillas, besides great food Ted's have a wonderful service nobody in the city will take care of you the way the Teds employers will, from the second you walk inside the building , to the moment you will get the table until the time you live the place, all your needs will be taken care of completely Teds wait staff always do a remarkable job taking care of the guest, they always work in pairs to make sure everything runs nice and smooth and guest are fully satisfied and on top of that Mike, Kamson or both, will stop by the table multiple times with fresh tortilla, chips or drink refills, and if you need they will package your food to go before you live. Management staff at Ted's absolutely fantastic every single time I being in Teds its always packed but doesn't meter how busy the place is, Fran or Dewayne always will find time to stop by the Table to check on us and to make sure me and my family are satisfied with our food and make sure everything exactly the way we ordered, and then there is Kamson guy is more entertaining than a dish network, he always find the way how to bright my day real nice, real friendly extremely funny and the best part is doesn't meter what you going ask him to do he will do it for you . At the end of the day Ted's is the best restaurant in town the food is delicious the service is over the top price meet the budget, two thumbs up 6 out of 5.
I've been going to Ted's for at least 15 years now. I make a point of trying to go at least a couple times a month. Granted, there is usually a wait and some of the food items are more expensive than other local Mexican restaurants. However, the quality and taste of the food, along with impeccable service make it totally worthwhile. The homemade tortillas simply can not be beat. The free salsa, queso, and chips are also great. You definitely need to check out Ted's at least one time. Once you do, you'll be hooked!

i have worked for teds for 3 years and have only commited myself because it is a great company to work for...the atomic salsa is jalepeno based and has chunks of freshly diced avacodo added before served, theres a habenero salsa as well for the fire eaters ,...our tortillas are homemade ..!! what homemade ??? what other mexican resturant in okc serves homemade tortillas , correct me please .. service is great always depending on what location. Teds mission is about customer loyaty and satisfaction .and reassuring guest return %100, and the food is already expensive because its so fresh and topshelf in quality that we dont upsell or try and force appetizers and drinks like any other restaraunt would ..... if you havent tried teds maybe its time be adventurous .. you only live once
I have been going to Teds for years and have not found better mexican food in this state or out. In 10 + years we have had food that was not up to their regular standards twice. One of those times the manager followed us out to the car apologising and promising to make it up to us when we came back. Yes it always is busy, theres a reason for that! We found away around that by ordering our food to go. Depends on how many meals you order, but there is always more set-ups then we can eat. Set-ups are tortilla chips, cheese dip, salsa and if you ask for it you can have flour tortilas and marn. vegetables. Everything is made fresh everyday and tastes wonderful. The only thing that is not my favorite is the guacomole. It always has a little too much lemon for my taste, but it doesn't turn brown right away, like mine does. mmmm, I'm getting hungry.
