This is the second occasion that my drink has been abruptly taken from me at Pearls’, based on false assumptions/misinformation that I was drunk. This time I asked the bartender why my drink was taken and was told that someone heard me puking in the bathroom. Not true. I even attempted to talk with a manager who accused me of yelling at her. I am hard of hearing and wear hearing aids. However, like many senior citizens having hearing deficits, I cannot always judge the loudness of my voice, especially in places with a lot of background noise. The first time this happened a couple of years ago, I informed Pearls' staff of my hearing deficit and the problems associated with wearing hearing aids. So, my advice to anyone who has a hearing impairment and wears hearing aides, keep your voice down, else your drink may be literally ripped from you. In the last 6 years, I frequented Pearls' at least once a week. But, they lost a good customer by treating me like a degenerate. I felt so embarrassed and was humiliated in front of friends and other people patronizing the restaurant. I will never go back.

Incompetent Management & Staff

Because it's a place grandpa likes, we go at least 8 or 10 times a year. We have been disappointed so many times, it's ridiculous.

Do they know how to make a Tom Collins (a classic cocktail)? No. No, they really don't, and I'm sure there's a bartender guide in the bar somewhere.

The ""Ultimate Crab Cake - 1/4 lb of lump crab meat and not much else"" ($18.99) was 80% breading. When we brought this to the attention of the manager, he said, ""Well, what do you want me to do?' This was the m-a-n-a-g-e-r, not some slack-jawed 20-something who just got their first job waiting tables.

Peppered Ponzu Ahi Tuna is often so tough you can't chew through the fascia. That's not sashimi-grade, folks.

Their old signature dishes, Crawfish Ettouffee, Jambalaya, etc. taste like they came out of a box in the freezer.

Sometimes the food comes out great. The churrasco steak is very reliable. I love seafood, but I never order it here.
