BUYER BEWARE DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS PEOPLE. THEY CAN'T PAY THIER BILLS ON TIME AND CANNOT GET HOLD WITH ANYBODY WHEN CALLING THEM ESPECIALLY THAT REGINA CAROL WON'T RETURN YOUR CALL. WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS ARE THEY RUNNING THAT'S A BS!!!
They deserve a rating of MINUS 100.I cannot begin to tell you how bad Maxey Homes cheated us. It is two years and we are still trying to get this piece of crap home we purchased fixed. Our big mistake was paying cash. After they got our money it was like too bad we can't help you. Like others we were lied to by Gabe and Don and Maxey himself the one and only time we got to speak with him. Also beware of the so called extended warranty they sell you. Ours was never purchased then a year later they sent us one that covered nothing and had forged our names. What was so bad Don assured us he was a Christian and we did not have to worry about anything. If there was a problem they would take care of it. That was the biggest lie of all. Of course they are not the ones that built it. They just happen to be the ones that lied and said we were purchasing the Cadillac of homes but it is far from it. The guy they sent to level it screwed it up big time and they would not send him back to fix it.Oak Creek Homes who used the cheapest and did the shoddiest work ever is also being held accountable. We are in the process of suing them both. Please save yourself a lot of heartache and regret do not buy from these shysters. They are the worst in the business.
BUYER BEWARE!!! These salesmen will say anything to get you to buy from them.
NEVER sign their good faith deposit waiver!!! Other businesses return it to you, but maxey homes will have you sign a paper that says you forfeit it if you change your mind.
The salesmen here will straight lie to your face and then later say talk to mr. Maxey
FYI Mr. Maxey will never be reachable. They will not give you a number or his hours.
DO NOT BUY HERE!!!
I do not work for Maxey Homes, but I have bought a home from them in the past and my great uncle was in the manufactured home business. Let me first say that many people who purchase a manufactured home do not understand that it is a HOUSE, even though it may have wheels. The more you add to a home the more expensive it will be, the same holds true to a custom built home. If you change light fixtures, it costs more. Also, financing is slightly different for a manufactured home, the interest rate is usually slightly higher, but it is still a home. You can't walk in with a 400 credit score and think you can buy a $100,000 and have a payment of $300 per month with no money down.
I love my home from Maxey's, it isn't my main house, it is a lake house. I take care of it and it shows little sign of wear. Overall, I'm a very happy customer.
We had a deal working for a purchase of 5 acres and a mobile home from Maxey Mobile Homes. After 6 months of working with them and the land owner it was discovered that there was a lien on the property and it's not being taken care of. So I contacted Maxey representative Charlie Cates and asked him to try to find another piece of land that would work. Unfortunately he was not able to find any land either. Now that we had no land to put the home on it was not possible to purchase the mobile home either and they were both on the same loan application. Maxey says that as we are backing out of the deal that they are entitled to keep the 3.5% down that we gave them at the beginning of the deal amounting to $3500 for the FHA loan of $100,000. They say we signed an agreement that we would forfeit all earnest money paid if we backed out after being approved for credit. This approval never occurred. We were only pre-approved pending everything running through underwriters. We are currently in the process of purchasing another property that already has a home on it. All we want is our down payment back that we paid in good faith less the fees for title work that was started. The agreement that we signed says that we only paid $25 in earnest money. We thought the rest was for the FHA down payment.
They wanted more and more money from us! Told us they would give us $4000 back and then turned around and said never mind they couldn't do it, and THEN they told us we couldn't get the free furniture package! Don't buy homes from them! They are terrible and will break the bank!
My family shopped around when we went to buy a new home, it is a grueling process. I would like part of this home and my wife would like part of another. The professionals at maxeys helped us get the dream home we wanted. The whole process took a little while, but maxeys made it as smooth as possible. Don and Gabe were very helpful by explaining every step of the way. I would highly recomend Maxeys for your next home purchase.
They will send you jumping through hoops all along the way making promises they cannot keep. Then when you are about to close they will hit you with huge fees. And forget about trying to get your earnest money back. Check the better business bureau first and save yourself a headache.
