I went to this urgent care on Christmas eve. I called from work to make sure the time they closed. I was told 2pm period. I left my job 2.5 hours early so I could be there by 1pm. I was told when I got there that the provider had already taken their last patient. I lost time from work and they lost a customer. I reported it on their website.

DO NOT GO HERE! I went in for a drug test for my new job and they dragged their feet on sending it out! By the time the lab got the sample it was NO good and I could have lost my job! Thankfully my bosses are amazing and are letting me re-test and I will NOT come back here! The person who sent my sample in late should be fried!

I am sorry that you had problems with your drug screen. If your company has not already contacted us about the issue, please have them do so. We want to make sure that this never happens again and we need to know the details so we know if it was a problem on our end or at the lab. Please ask your employer to contact the corporate office, 405-471-6400.

I am almost tempted to give a ...

I am almost tempted to give a no star rating! NEVER GO HERE! Horrible business practices and even worse management!

I went to this hospital over a tiny little finger infection. I was impressed that i got in and out in about 30mins. Now I know why. No one wants to go here!

A few days later i started feeling extremely sick and started getting a rash. Turns out I had an allergic reaction to the medicine they gave me. When I went back, I explained my symptoms, and everyone, including the doctor, said it was because of the medicine they prescribed. Both the nurse and the doctor even said most people are allergic to it, and even the nurse said she was allergic to it as well and was surprised they gave it to me. So my first thought was "why do they prescribe medicine most people are allergic to."

A month later I get two bills. One was for my first visit, which my insurance covered most of it. The second was for going to the hospital to be treated for an allergy issue, which my insurance didn't cover as much for because I guess they only cover so much in a time period ( i don't want to get started on how i feel about insurance).

Honestly, since neither I or the doctor knew i was allergic to the medicine that apparently "most people are allergic to," I didn't mind paying for the medicine to treat the allergic reaction. What I don't understand is why I have to pay a second fee for a second doctor examination that was caused by the first one.

They charged me again for seeing them two days later for the medicine they prescribed that caused me to get sick in the first place! Plus the charges on the bill for second doctor's examination cost more than the first visit! They didn't even take my weight or blood pressure or do any kind of examination. They already knew what the issue was because of an allergic reaction and just gave me even more medicine and sent me on my happy way. Any doctor I went to before would have not charged me for a second visit and called it a follow up visit because it was obviously related to the first issue that was caused by them!

So I called their office and spoke with their management. The person i dealt with wasn't for this specific office but handles cases for all the Urgent Care issues. She was very rude to me. I could just hear her rolling her eyes over the phone. She kept telling me it wasn't their problem, and spoke to me in a way that made me feel like I was stupid. In the end, she kept saying "what do you want us to do", and when I told her, she said, "well its not our problem you don't know what you are allergic to."

It's not like I wanted to make a legal case over this. I went from a swollen finger that caused me minor discomfort to the excruciating pain of a terrible fever and having most my chest and back covered in an allergic rash. I also was unable to sleep for two days because of constantly scratching myself, and I missed 3 days of work. Still, I am not the type of person who intentionally wants to give people more trouble than necessary and I am not trying to profit or get more than I am owed. The only thing i was asking was for them to waive the second examination fee, and I would still pay for the other charges even though I never would have had to pay for them either if not for the medicine they gave me.

In any case, this place is horrible. They only care about taking your money and are very rude. I will never go to another First Med Urgent Care again! There are plenty of other clinics you should think about visiting before going to these rude incompetent negligent crooks.

I am so sorry that you had a bad experience. If you would be willing to contact our corporate office it would allow us to look into this and see what we can do to make it right. We take the quality of our medical care and customer service very seriously and do not want a patient to have a negative experience. Our corporate number is 471-6400.

Stay far away if you actually ...

Stay far away if you actually want medical expertise. I've gone multiple times, and I've never been impressed with their care. The Asian doctor is an idiot. If you come in with a problem, his remedy is to print out something from the internet and read exactly what it says to you, then charge their expensive fee for something you could have done for free at home. I once took the results of an ultrasound that was ordered from there and got stuck with him. All he did was read the results back to me and couldn't even answer the actual question I had, which was why I went to a doctor in the first place. Half of the time, I don't even get a bill from them either until it is considered late. There are many walk in clinics out there. Do yourself a favor and keep driving past this one.

Poorly Managed

After dealing with their management, I will never go to another Firstmed Urgent Care again. Nor would I ever recommend them to anyone.
